CoronitaParticipant

The people across the street have their house listed, voices carry here, i heard them having a pretty crazy $ argument a few days ago.
I need to be quieter.
So any recs, a carpenter, anyone to move fwd.
Guys keep coming over to quote, but its almost like they dont want the job
It’s too bad you are over at Temecula because I have a couple of contractors that have cycles since things are slow that does flooring, cabinets, counters, and walls. I’m about to redo the flooring of a condo since I thought I would take advantage of the slowdown to get some deferred improvements I wanted to make eventually anyway, and since my tenant doesn’t mind opening the doors and helping. (Why not, they get new flooring…But it would only take 1-2 days i think.
I don’t think Nextdoor because you got a bunch of crazy people, but for finding contractors, it seems like it’s ok. Have you tried there?
The contractors can sleep at my house if travels an issue
I can ask. So basically, cabinet and counter?
You pick the cabinets and counter already and just need install?

CoronitaParticipant

Feel for ‘ya man. Every spring same tension in our house. Everything becomes an emergency! Me, not so much…
I could live with one electric burner in the yard indefinitely. Or just a toaster oven.
In the summer, no heat required just v8 juice and bread.
And you wonder why your spouse might be a little upset about this??? Lol.
Home improvement/remodeling are always a source of contention, especially when a contractor doesn’t complete things on time or to the expectations…People actually get divorces over this…I think it happened to one of my old neighbors of my old place. They bought the house, and then went through a major remodeling over the summer, and at the end of it they ended up putting the house on the market because they were splitting up.
CoronitaParticipantCan we rename this thread to “Old Timer Hangout Talking About the Stock Market? ”
Lol
CoronitaParticipantWelcome back TG!
CoronitaParticipant
LOL yea maybe but I think the BI still gives a good indicator for market long term value.
The further it gets below 100 the safer a long term S&P Index buy will be IMO.
(March 22 it was about 105 in chart below)
But then again, maybe it will never get below 100 in my life time going forward.https://www.longtermtrends.net/market-cap-to-gdp/%5B/quote%5D
Perhaps. let me read that. My brain is officially turned off. It’s almost Furlow Friday, lol.
CoronitaParticipant
The Buffett indicator.
What the Buffett Indicator Tells Us About the Highest Market Valuation Ever
Warren buffet has been wrong a few times lately.
CoronitaParticipantBlood type “O” 9-18% less chance.
CoronitaParticipantanother day or two like this, maybe there is some value to reenter.
must resist temptation….

CoronitaParticipantDow down 1500. on top of the 500 point drop over the past 2 days.
ooof….
CoronitaParticipant
should have bought that sh scaredy scolded me about.
Another link on what I was referring to earlier.
Buyer Beware: Millennials Are About to Learn They Know Nothing About Stocks
people are really buying cheaspeake and hertz?
oof….
Dow down 900. Like I said, I was overdue to be wrong about the markets. And I’d rather
pay capital gains taxes versus being stuck with capital loss carryovers.
CoronitaParticipantI guess sell was the right thing to do afterall. Dow has been down about 500pts for the past 2 days. And it seems like the futures are off by another 500pt . People getting concerned about a reinfection?
Sitting at the sideline watching this will be interesting.
edit dow futures now down 900.
CoronitaParticipant
I try to pick tech companies
Anyway more pressing problems than the overheated stock market. I think I have a rat inside by wall since there’s been noise inside it all night. My pest control company sucks. Anyone have a good experience with a pest control company for rats?
Oof….I’m sorry. or raccoons….
maybe try these guys :
CoronitaParticipant
Strange stocks like NKLA, DUO, CHK came out of nowhere and shot up 200-300% in a single day. Lots of shady stuff going on. Whatever it is, it’s quite unsettling.
