CoronitaParticipantPhaster, lay off the monthly dope and booze binge.
I guess now that the Peak Oil conspiracy has been busted, it’s time to move onto the next conspiracy. Bonds and pensions.
Hope you didn’t go long on oil when it was Peak Prices… Lol.
Let me know when your next revelation will be the next time you’re high. Entertainment factor, of course.
CoronitaParticipantPhaster. You discredited yourself enough simply by your prior predictions, in which you were totally wrong.
You were totally wrong about your tin foil hat, conspiracy wacko conviction about peak oil.
Totally wrong.
So what makes you so convinced you would be so accurate in your prediction this time????

CoronitaParticipant
Unfortunately database jobs are not paying better overseas yet than here in the USA.
You are way oversimplifying technology jobs. If you can’t the difference between a “programmer” versus architect or software engineering, then there’s a problem right there.

CoronitaParticipant
Most pilots flying for US Carriers would not see 300K until 20+ years on the job. These Chinese jobs are game changers because the employer is paying the employee’s income tax bill, effectively they are earning 450K+ compared to US pilot colleagues.
The interesting part will happen when we see companies like Huawei throwing a bigger bone to the former Cisco employees. I’ve been hearing about some interesting compensation packages coming out of there. Well, I guess people complaining about US company jobs being “stolen” by foreigners can complain less, once foreign companies start paying better than U.S. companies, skills/tech transfer issues aside. Globalization isn’t all doom and gloom. It’s great for folks with skills in demand. It’s the only way companies will be able to catch up quickly.
Show me the money.
CoronitaParticipantLol.

Half-Indian man escorted out of Trump rally
Charlotte (CNN)A man who identified himself as half-Indian was escorted out of a Donald Trump rally on Thursday out of concern that he was a protester, but the man insisted he was a Trump supporter and said he feels that he was racially profiled.
Jake Anantha, an 18-year-old from Charlotte, was approached by a member of Trump’s security team and then ushered out by police. He was told that he resembled another man who had previously disrupted Trump rallies.
“I told him I’ve never been to another rally in my life,” Anantha said. “I’m a huge Trump supporter. I would never protest against Trump.”
Anantha is a registered Republican, according to state voter records, who registered to vote in March. Anantha, who said he’s a student at Central Piedmont Community College, was wearing a pro-Trump shirt with another pro-Trump shirt underneath.Anyone else notice the common mentality from the Trump camp? Try this…Everything that comes from the Trump camp, try to prefix it with
“Well, since all the brown people look the same, so ….”I think that’s the common litmus test for the majority of the thought processes and decision processes that come from the Trump camp….
Lol…
CoronitaParticipantWouldn’t mind picking up more rentals. Things are at a point which rentals aren’t penciling out out.
CoronitaParticipantLol phaster. I hate bonds… I don’t know why you think I like bonds. The only reason why I have a little tiny holding of bonds is because it’s slightly better than a 1%CD. How’s you’re 1%CD doing for ya the past 8-10 years?
Thanks for the very entertaining cartoons. Glad you took time out of your day to find them so I wouldn’t have to. Cute!
FLU Out… (mic drop).
CoronitaParticipant.
CoronitaParticipantOld news.
(Avago) is splitting Broadcom up into pieces. Part of the company was sold to Cyprus Semiconductor (IOT business). Part of the company that does NFC is being sold to someone else. The acquirer I’m told only wants to keep about 25%-30% of that group.
Package I heard is pretty good, and stock is making a killing. Avago is a terrible employer to work for, but as an investment probably very good in the sector.
Think of Avago similar to Foxconn. The don’t give a hoot about employees, which probably means for shareholders it’s a good thing
Glad I got out well before that.
CoronitaParticipant

Um, flu, I don’t know what you’ve been smoking but “Chinese people” don’t do my job. I’m sure they exist … somewhere, but I’ve never met a Chinese person who is in my occupation. At least not in San Diego, where I work. A lot of stuff I do requires very strong English dictation, reading, writing and composition skills on frequently difficult material which has to be in a special format. Sorry to burst your bubble but people who immigrated here from China could not do it.
That’s borderline racist. Just because you haven’t met any does not mean someone from China doesn’t have the language skills to do a similar job.
Actually, BG is right. Most Chinese people don’t do her job. Because most chinese american parents tell their kids if they want to pursue the legal profession, go to law school and finish and be a real lawyer.
Two of my best friends both were born in mainland china and only came to the US for about 6 years, before they wanted to something else. Both had PHD’s in bioengineering. Both ended up decided they wanted to be patent attorneys when they were in their late 30ies. Both took about 3 years to finish law school part time while working (both put in a lot of time an effort)..Both work in DC now as real attorneys..
Funny how that works out BG. People who’s English isn’t the first language ended up becoming real lawyers, who are a lot younger, who immigrated here, who’s English you think is worse than yours..Folks that had a much later start than you did….And yet, they are real lawyers…Why? Again, very simple. They wanted to pursue a law degree, they wanted to pass Bar, they wanted to become real practicing attorneys. You didn’t. They put in the time and effort, you chose not to. So their job, they didn’t “steal from you”. You didn’t put the time and effort to try to obtain it. And they certainly aren’t trying to “steal” your job right now either.
CoronitaParticipantBG, if it makes you feel better, you are exactly like your hero Trump.
You come out with a bigotted/racist statement (about how chinese are stealing YOUR jobs)….And then obviously, when someone calls your out for being an idiot, a bigot, you get all butt hurt and pretend to be a victim.
Well shit BG, maybe people wouldn’t be trying to slam you for your stupidity if you didn’t open your fat mouth full of bigoted shit.
Here’s a FACT idiot. It’s the 21st century. The economy has changed. Computers/software/tech… That’s where middle class america is. Most of you whiners CHOSE not do this profession. Your KIDS CHOSE NOT TO DO THIS PROFESSION TOO… Of course the Chinese, Koreans, Japanese, Eastern Europeans, Russians, are going to do these jobs because they CHOSE TO.
Life is about choices. You made yours by deciding to not go to college. Your kids made them by deciding to not do anything science related. No one is going to hire you and your kids to do science related/engineering related jobs because simply put you aren’t qualified, neither are your kids. Because you CHOSE not to do that. In as much as I’m not qualified to be a doctor. No one stole anything from you nor your kids. You aren’t qualified to be a lawyer because again, you chose not to pursue that too. No one held a gun to your head and told you couldn’t do any of the jobs foreigners or foreign countries did. It was your choice.
Everything about you as about how unfair things are. How expensive things are, how more people are moving into San Diego, driving up home prices, making it more congested, etc, etc. Move out, move somewhere else. It doesn’t sound like california really is for you. There are 49 other states to live in if you are so unhappy with the demographics of homeowners, demographics of kids going to UC schools, demographics of your neighbors. Just go. You should be much happier. The world isn’t going to change for you. And you certainly dont seem to be adapting well to it. And yet, you stay, and apparently are so unhappy with it. Again, your choice.
CoronitaParticipantAnd here’s a nice article about robotics “stealing” your manufacturing jobs. And plenty of others that all say the same thing….
CoronitaParticipantAnd for the record….If there’s any other piggs that didn’t go to college, I don’t care if you did or you didn’t. I’m sure you can be just as successful if you did your didn’t.
And there’s plenty of well paid vocational career paths that frankly does very well in this country that I have the utmost respect for. It’s just all the lazy hypocrites that didn’t do something, and then think others that took the time to do it… “stole” their opportunity….
CoronitaParticipant

… yet another (deleted) personal attack on BG
As usual, flu, you can’t stay on topic and choose to attack me personally, instead. This thread isn’t about me. It’s about the MILLIONS of manufacturing (and even call-center, customer service and help desk jobs) lost in the US over the past 20 years, beginning with Bill Clinton’s passage of NAFTA into law.
Oh, and btw, I’m just fine with 2 pensions plus my income from my work (sorry if you haven’t been able to earn a pension). As a matter of fact, I’ll be fine for the rest of my life. And for the record, I have 2 years of college (actually about 80 semester units). On top of that, I have a 500 level (Master’s level) one-year occupational certificate and 2 state licenses so you don’t have to worry about me.
Why don’t you endeavor to focus on your own issues as it relates to your participation in this forum (and they are many). And while you’re at it, why don’t you start polling other Piggs at random on their “educational attainment” and see how well that “experiment” goes over.
No BG. You see, your problem is that you think Chinese people stole your job and your career prospects.
That is a lie. The reason why your career is limited has nothing to do with the Chinese. It has everything to do with the FACT that you didn’t go to college AND you didn’t go back to college, despite remaining in the legal profession ,which in the 21st century is a requirement for you to be successful in your profession.
As us republicans would say.
Personal responsibility…Get some. -
