CoronitaParticipant"BTW who here is on Ron Paul's campaign in SD, and where can I send a campaign contribution?"
I think yo might be saying this in jest but in case not there is a link. The most avid Ron Paul supporters from the blog have not been here lately. There are several. Greekfire has posted a couple of times about a meetup in north county related to the campaign.I've been contemplating this for some time. I know he doesn't really have a shot, but frankly I really don't like any other candidate on either other side of the party, though I'm slightly warming to McCain . The thing that's been holding me back is that the media distorted things into portraying him as a racist. Oh well. I'll carpool for the next few weeks and skip out on a few happy hours, that should do it for a few hundred.
—– Sour grapes for everyone!

CoronitaParticipantYou guys are a bunch of cry babies…oooo they're gonna raise the the mortgage conforming limits.
If you don't like what is going on, do something about it. Looks like the bill is sitting in the Senate now.
Call or email your Senator Feinstein or Boxer, organize a protest, do whatever you thing might make a difference. You are just bitching on boards to fellow like minded folks.
If you spent as as much time engaged in the politics as you do on this board you might actually make an impact.
It continues to amaze me how many people think that one individual letter to the senator, 1 vote, or 1 political action by 1 person would have any impact whatsoever and that such an action would constitute "making a difference". Seriously…we're not kids anymore. Can we get off the ideology crap in thinking that your 1 letter to a senator or 1 vote especially in CA would really make a frickin difference? I have nothing against petition drives, collective efforts, or if everyone wanted all the sudden wanted to collectively blast our senators with our complaints, as well as putting a political campaign fund the get our point across (isn't that how's it's really done anyway?) But the sort of 1 individual can make a difference ideology…come on.
Most politicians suck at economics, so it doesn't really matter what's correct. It's the same people that I've run into in the office that spend all day talking, acting politics, that they don't get any work done or worse disrupt others from getting work done. I had the unfortunate incident of sharing an office with such a freak, and it was too the point that he was so goddamn disruptive to the team, that I had to talk to a few folks to indirectly remove him from the damn project. One time, his waste of time sort of got on my nerves so much that, I flat out asked him that if he loved politics so much, why doesn't he quit his current job and go pursue something in politics. Work for some person's campaign, or something. And the response?…."It doesn't pay enough for me.." Lol! what conviction! And my next question : "why don't you put your money where your mouth is?" No response.
