CoronitaParticipantIt’s just ironic how a “progressive” is such a huge champion of the poor, illegals, and disadvantaged here in the States, but also at the same time a huge admirer or a Communist government that is well know to persecute minority races and sects in China by executing and harvesting their organs for a profit.
Sick.
CoronitaParticipant
Let’s not even talk about China and it’s dealings with Taiwan, Tibet, Venezuela, animal cruelty and endangered animals being killed for Chinese medicine, the South China Sea. If anyone needs a “chin check” it’s China.
Um, killing endangered animals isn’t really the worst thing…. Harvesting political prisoner’s organs, and killing them to make cosmetics (collegan) is…. Brutally put, much of the cosmetics made in china and sold to american consumers probably have some organic material from a dead human that was executed to produce it…..
Folks belonging to Falun Gong (a religious group… you might know them becuse Shen Yun Performing Arts here often do performances, and they are part of that group) are routinely targeted and jailed in China for it… Let that sink in for a minute…..
https://www.theguardian.com/science/2005/sep/13/medicineandhealth.china
No dancing around this truth. It’s a pretty wide known practice, especially confirmed by a lot of foreigners that specifically went to China for organ transplants who otherwise would not have received a transplant.
Admiring PRC’s communist party is a pretty disturbing concept. it’s right up there with thinking Hitler did Germany a good thing…
It’s pretty sick… And for someone in America to admire the PRC government, despite what is a clear fact of what is going it, that’s either grossly ignorant or grossly sick…. Either way, it’s bad..
And there is no equivalent to this in the US no matter how twisted you try to make a comparison to….

I have not read about their card interest rate, annual fees, ability to cash out, etc.But on big purchases means a ~8% return vs. a 4% cash back on current credit card.. still a better deal. However- only at that store. So you have to structure your purchase and not carry a credit.
Today we’re introducing the B&H Payboo credit card*. Use Payboo and save the tax — you pay the tax, and we pay you back instantly! When you make any taxable purchase at B&H with Payboo, you receive an immediate, instant reward equal to the sales tax you paid. And at B&H, instant means instant — no expiring points, credits, or coupons to worry about. It’s that simple. (Note: B&H will collect and remit state sales tax in accordance with state sales tax laws and regulations.)
They probably will recoup their costs for paying the sales tax simply because a lot of people in this country carry a credit card balance.
Unrelated… Do you still use your DSLR a lot? If you do, that’s admirable. I stopped using my DSLR for some time, except really important events…Between my cell phone and my GoPro cameras, I don’t usually lug around my Canon 7D and any accompanying glass that much anymore.

CoronitaParticipantIf a kod really has something like Asperger syndrome, any concerned parent would want their kid to get help as soon as possible so that he/she wouldn’t end up a sociopath for the rest of his life, or worse end up on the 6pm evening news. A 12 year old in self denial that he/she has any problems and refuses any sort of diagnosis would probably end up a really screwed up sociopath for the rest of his life….just saying…..draw your own conclusions using real life examples.

CoronitaParticipant
Good on California for recognizing that people below 18 or 21 still have human rights. Be a shame if your kid reported you for human trafficking on the way to Utah and got you thrown in jail for a few days until the case was resolved.
Thank you for proving my point.

CoronitaParticipant…waiting for the progressives to chime in as they usually do about about how 12 year olds and teens should have extreme privacy rights to the point that parents have no say in any sort of medical diagnosis…and then when an mentally unstable kid that denies needing any help decides to go postal, act so surprised that they didn’t get any help.
CoronitaParticipantHmm. interesting.. I am curious what they have up their sleeve…I like B-H, but I only bought high quality filters from them… When I bought my Canon 7D and the 28-70mm 2.8L lens, I ended up buying it from Amazon… Even with the sales tax, it was still cheaper than B&H by a few hundred.
Currently, I buy tires online for the same reasons versus say costco…
Im guessing B&H is going to give loyalty points redeemable for merchandise. When you use loyalty points to buy the next item, it would be a $0 sale.l and no sales tax. A lot of auto performance shops do that right now.
fwiw.. if you ship the item to a federal address in CA , I don’t think sales tax is collected.. IE…ship it to a military base like Miramar or ship it to an address in the Presido in NorCal….
There are also mail forwarding services….
CoronitaParticipantThanks Hobie. Yes, I know. I always get stainless steel braided lines. separate from the shut-off valves.
But the irony to this is that when it’s time to replace the hose lines, I generally replace the shutoff valve too ..
Done… Had to buy a $11 tool to pull the compression ring off the copper pipe ..Spent $35 total including the tool. 1 hr… L.A. plumber wanted $200…lol…
$165 towards my autocross tires and m ods fund…

Btw, calif regs has banned the good plumbing parts. Depot brass stuff is actually ok.
Let me guess. miniscule amount of lead in brass?
1/4 turn is the best. Fast and they are ball valves as opposed to the gate and seat type which tend to leak at the stem /and/or get corroded stuck.
The reason I ask is , I’ve been putting in 1/4 turn brasscrafts on my rentals….But today I went to go buy some for my parents home, the Home Depot guy insisted I get the full turn versus the 1/4 turn … he told me he’s a plumber by trade also.and that he’s seen a lot of the 1/4 turn fail much earlier than the full turn, so he strongly recommended I get the #34 full turn versus the #35 1/4 turn
BTW… I am still surprised this lasted 39years… I guess they don’t make these like they use to…[img_assist|nid=26801|title=supply line|desc=|link=node|align=left|width=800]
CoronitaParticipantThe-Shoveler.
Didn’t say this adminstration made one of the best decisions ever by Broadcom/Avago’s attempt to acquire Qualcomm and cut it up into pieces? Qualcomm is probably the only wireless telco company with a proven 5G solution that is in production. Not intel (they just pulled out), not Nvidia, not any other U.S. company.
Maybe MediaTek… Maybe Huawei….That’s it.
It would have been a huge mistake for this “crown jewel” to have been sold to a Broadcom. All all those haters, that were call complainng about a 50ish Qualcomm stock price… Ha! Time has told.. Meanwhile, Intel eating major crow today…
Intel’s vaporware….

ha ha.,Haters….wrong….again….
CoronitaParticipant

I don’t think it is necessarily inevitable.
It is “not” the FED’s mandate to have a recession every 5-10 or so years.
Would you say the same for China?
I agree. But our fundamental belief system is different from China.
I actually agree with China. Money and the economy are a giant engineering project that if engineered well can grow forever.
Brian just doesn’t like being flat out wrong and eating crow . .
he never showed an interest in recessions , economy, tech ,stocks, investments, until this administration.. Because he’s waiting for the opportunity to say “I told you so”..heh heh
CoronitaParticipantGDP 3.2%, beats expectations
https://finance.yahoo.com/news/gdp-1q-2019-first-print-191823923.html
The economy hasn’t collapsed under this adminstration, as was previously predicted.
CoronitaParticipantStarbucks also beats…
Ford beats…
t-mobile beats
mattel beats
CoronitaParticipantAmazon beats..
Intel getting clobbered probably because of AMD ha ha ha.
