ParticipantI’ve noticed that getting your offer to the top of the stack at the bank is the key.
Seems like making an all cash offer, at a fair price, with a sub 2 week closing is the only way to get one of the few quality REO properties.

ParticipantAverage investor….poor typer….
We’ve recently shorted Treasuries with long term IRA funds. we agree that timing is tough/impossible.
However, with a long term horizon my view is that rates will be higher rather than lower over the long haul. That’s just one way to play it instead of just waiting for it and blogging about it…

ParticipantI agree that US Treasuries are in an all time bubble that it is painfully obvious.
Rates are at all time lows….which means the only significant move in bond prices is higher.
I have always found it easier to participate in a deflating bubble as it is easy to see a bubble when it is here rather than trying to guess what might turn into a bubble.
We all knew housing was in a bubble, but didn’t know how what to do. We made more profit shorting MBS beginning in 2006 than we made on the way up…
Thus, look at one of the short/ultra-short us TBill ETF funds and sit back
