ParticipantBell Gardens was fantastic but it has been closed for years as far as I know?? Also, no way it is/was 15 acres! I don’t know the stats but it was much, much bigger than that. Maybe 115 acres but not 15. I loved taking my kids there.

ParticipantI’m a coastal girl but I really like parts of Valley Center especially if you are looking for more space and peace. I don’t live there so I can’t provide the inside scoop. But it seems like you can get to all of those needs you listed even if you have to drive a little more. To me, it’s a trade off. I’d live somewhere more rural with more land and more peace and the trade off is yes, maybe you have to drive a little longer to go shopping. So you plan better and go less often…big deal. As far as the summer heat, well, I guess it’s a personal preference but come on, the weather is pretty great in Valley Center compared to most of the country. I’d take a zillion inland places in CA and that type of summer heat vs. back East summers any day. Most of the year is fantastic. And even in the summer, I’m sure the majority of the days are perfectly comfortable in the shade. People are too quick to turn on the AC or heat today.

ParticipantWithout going off on the Nazi tangent, did you actually read the link from the OP? Here is an excerpt:
“There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to [email protected].”
Seriously?!?! I’m sorry, I find that creepy and odd. I just had a conversation with my extremely liberal neighbor regarding the health care bill this evening and I guess he’s supposed to provide a written transcript of our “casual conversation” and email it to the white house now.
