ParticipantI swear I’m not snobby but that’s a pretty low dollar amount for that much new furniture. I would think new your only chance of meeting that limit would be places like Jerome’s or Ikea. And hey, nothing wrong with those options if you are OK with the quality and like it. But I wouldn’t expect the pieces to last forever. If it were me, I’d spring for the good quality couches and go used on the occasional tables. If you get used, good quality wood occasional tables you could always refinish the pieces to match wood stains or get lucky and find a grouping for a good deal on Craigslist. Or go unfinished and do them yourself. Personally, I hate furniture shopping so I pick classic, good quality stuff that will last.
The one recommendation I would have is to get microfiber fabric on the couches, especially if you have kids.

Participant
It appears there has been a possible mutation in the Ukraine. The government closed down several regions of the country to try and contain it. News has been sparse and contradictory so far. Though, it sounds as if it could be more deadly than the bug we have here as well as having some very nasty side effects. It is something to watch.

The more severe manifestation of ARI cases are clearly hemorrhagic disease that fills lungs with blood and produces bleeding at all orifices, which are stark reminders of 1918 pandemic cases which were also linked to a swine H1N1.
Some experts believe that many of the 1918 flu deaths that presented with these symptoms were with people with undiagnosed TB. Ukraine still has a high TB case rate.

ParticipantWow, some people’s concept of what they think marriage is like and what women really want is seriously warped.
And I’m sure your girlfriend, who lives in Canada, is fantastic.
