ParticipantI backed out on buying when I didn’t get the interest rate I wanted because my credit score fell below their threshold. Wanted me to go from 4.7 to FHA 6.
Couldn’t figure out why my score dropped below the threshold other than charging 1 card up to close to 100% while waiting on getting reimbursed. (hotels, travel etc.) Counting per diem’s I am actually coming out way ahead and was just going to pay it back down when I got reimbursed, but as near as I can tell that must have driven down the score because I was pre-qualified. So anyway I told them, nope, not buying FHA at those rates. Glad I backed out. I am guessing about 3-4 months for my scores to normalize again after I get it paid down and let it age. Hopefully they stay low because if you get a house with a lot of repairs already down, buying is very cheap out here compared to renting.
I have a friendly lease which would allow me to buy a house and get out of the rental agreement with 30-day notice.

Don’t they have a place called the “Waterloo”. Couldn’t get Bonaparte out of that place as I recall.
