barnaby33Participant20k hardly would be worth flipping once you figure in commissions and taxes. Actually its funny if you take 340k and multiply by 6% you get 20.4 Add that to 340 and you get 360.4. Sounds like the bank is selling for exactly what they tool it back for plus commissions.

barnaby33ParticipantYes, “they” being Congress do. In the Bear Stearns Bailout the Fed decided all on its own to expropriate our money.

barnaby33ParticipantCertainly the problem is systemic. We have created a gargantuan financial system that nobody understands, underpinned by a legal system very few understand and forced poorly educated people into investing their money into it.
The reason why its worth the attempt is that GWB signed off on the deal. The clearest way to say no mas is to go after the guy at the top and make an example of him.
Do I think it will happen, not a chance in hell. Do I think it will get Congress/Presidents attention, maybe. If enough people take 30 seconds to read the petition, 10 minutes to read some commentary on the issue and another minute to sign the petition, back room deals that screw all of us, especially savers can be stopped. This is still a democracy as long as we act like it.

barnaby33ParticipantThe point is that the game is rigged against the little guy, but lets not make it worse. If people got off their asses and wrote their senators this deal would be dead in its tracks.
The point is that any kind of democracy requires informed citizens, not consumers.
The point is its theft, pretty plain and simple.
The point is that things like this are allowed to occur because people don’t raise their voices.
How many points do you need?
