Participant
I’ll worry about inflation when I start seeing articles about the positive effects of inflation. Fat chance!
Did we have articles about the positive effects of inflation in the mid to late 70s?As for worrying, I would only worry if I’m not prepared.

Participant

Zillow just bought this one in MM for $787,500. That is full retail on it. It may even be a touch high for this one in that condition. They put it back on at a price that is no better than breakeven if they get that price.

Participant
But people are not moving out fast enough. Nicer 1 bed apt are renting for $3500 a month, 2B/2B are renting close to $4,000 a month.
Trolley opening next month at UTC. And steps from La Jolla Shores Beach – well 22,000 steps but it’s walk through paradise.https://www.apartments.com/valentia-san-diego-ca/46ymdwk/

ParticipantLumping all media into the same bucket is useless. I’m sure the number would be flipped if it’s about Fox news instead of the media. Like you, I can’t envision how this will unwind itself either.

Participant
Or just tell your kids to marry up and not marry down, that would be easier. Why would someone with “considerable real estate holding” actually want to marry significantly downward where a prenup would be necessary….just saying..
It just reminds me of Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey.an
Participant
No one cares.
I wonder why even bother getting “married”? Why not just live together and if it no longer works out, just leave? It’s a lot less headache.an
Participant
Is it safe to be Mexican in all these better republican locales?
Is it safe to be Mexican in Compton or southeast San Diego by the 4 corner of death? How about south side of Chicago?an
ParticipantThis is 2020 result. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2020_United_States_presidential_election_in_California
Even Fresno turned blue. So, I agree with 42nate1, Republican is dead here. It wouldn’t surprise me if CA turn 95-100% blue in a couple of decades.
Republic haven been moving out to state and Democrats are moving here. I’m predicting the complete failure of the recall will accelerate that migration.

That is a little dramatization though. Those things happened over the span of 30+ years lolan
Participant
I would like to know how many times EconProf got carjacked in CA, robbed, had something big stolen, had someone break into his house, how many times he called the cops because his personal safety was in danger while in CA…instead of just being the Faux News Lemmings
I got my car broken into and all my stereo stripped, got my car stolen in front of the house, got my back window bashed in. My neighbor got robbed because he forgot to close is garage door. This is also not in the ghetto of San Diego. I was pretty blind to the ghetto until I worked in east village. At the parking lot, my coworker got his car pooped on by a person and he caught him in the act.an

Yay!!! Between this and the environmentalist (CEQA) prevent any new major development, econ 101 (supply vs demand), I’m expecting SFR lot to continue to outpace condo in value appreciation. Time to buy more SFR.Actually, it’s not just SB9 that was signed. SB8 and B10 was also signed into law.
