OK . . . here ya go. 1) I and many others did not evacutate and 2) the exits where not clogged, and 3) the main exit (Camino Del Norte to I-15) that was not clogged has just finished being widened. There are 2 other main exits to the south (Carmel Mountain Road) and to the west (Camino Del Sur). Exiting 4S (which was entirely unecessary and only done because the reverse 911 system can’t differntiate at that level) is not a problem.

Well said. No structure on earth is immune to fire. My only point is that it is a complete misnomer that 4S and other modern well designed (in light of known fire risks) communities are “risky places to live” in terms of wildfire danger vis a vis other places in San Diego. 4S is better protected than most. No place is completely fireproof. The fires in Laguna Beach . . .
