Thoughts on the passage of the health care bill?

I agree that health care is a part of the “social blanket”. No tort reform, no letting insurance companies competing across state lines, backroom deals that stink, ramming legislation through, not allowing anyone to read the bills all smells of bad lawmaking. On top of that, a suspicion of obama’s socialistic tendancies leaves alot of people suspicious that this bill is not about helping our country do health care better, but to socialize it as the goal.

For a measure as contentious as this to go through without compromises (or backroom dealing etc), you’d have to live in a dictator/communist country. So yeah, it’s not the best scenario but that’s how democracy works I guess.

The poor will still get substandard care as they do on Medicaid, the old will find it harder to get prescriptions as pharmacies cut them because they lose money and now the working middle class will receive substandard care.
