To think that I paid for auto insurance all these years and never had a claim exceeding $3,000.
I should be pissed off that my wealth got transferred to the idiot drivers who couldn’t avoid accidents and injuries.

I was about to say that too. I’m pissed that I’ve been paying $$$ to insurance companies and help transfer wealth to insurance companies and accident prone drivers.
I don’t know but I haven’t heard any say that CA requiring drivers to have car insurance was unamerican

March 23, 2010 at 11:31 AM #529681CascaParticipant
I am happy for my 5-year old cousin who has been unable to correct a crooked eye because his insurance has decided that it is a pre-existing condition and not cover-able.
I am happy for my brother who is self-employed and is unable to get reasonably priced insurance to repair the hernia that is causing him incredible discomfort.
I am happy for my mom who is too young to get Medicare but too weak from her Still’s disease to get a job that provides health care and medication at a decent price.
I am happy that as a self-employed entrepreneur, I will be able to provide health insurance for my family and afford my wife the luxury of working at a job that she enjoys rather than working at a job that provides us with health insurance.
So, yes, I am happy.
I am sad that as a family you all can’t get it together to take care of each other.
