The difference between me and Meg Whitman is that I’m not a hypocrite. I don’t do the opposite from what I feed my base for votes.
Brian: Speaking of politicians and hypocrisy, what about Nancy Pelosi? I know you’re all for fairness, Brian, and you clearly don’t like hypocrisy, so what about a career politican who says one thing publicly, and then does something completely different personally? You’d have an issue with someone like that, wouldn’t you? I mean, regardless of political party, right?
So, why don’t you put on your little muckraking hat, there, Brian, and do a little research on the family Pelosi and their various business holdings and investments, including the Auberge du Soleil hotel in Rutherford, CA, Skellenger vineyard in Napa, Zinfandel Lane vineyard in St. Helena and a large stake in the Piatti restaurants. What you’ll find is extremely interesting, especially when it comes to union support and illegal workers. Meaning, that Nancy does not put her money where her mouth is regarding unionization and not hiring illegals and undocumented workers.
For some additional fun, you can look up CordeValle Golf Club and Resort in San Martin, CA. This exclusive development will give you some insight regarding Nancy’s support of enviromentally “friendly” design and construction. She pays lip service to being green, but really isn’t.
Again, all of this is fairly easily found with a little research, but it does make the point that all politicians are lying, hypocritical weasels who will do anything to get elected, regardless of party.

This might be propaganda. Though I suspect that the timing has more to do with something Gloria Allred wants, and is only peripherally related to the election. Allred is partisan. But more than that, she’s an attention whore. So there’s little chance the timing is for Jerry Brown. The timing is for Gloria Allred. And if this woman had worked for Jerry Brown, I doubt the timing would be any different. It doesn’t appear it has any resemblance to a smear. The swiftboating of John Kerry? Now that was a smear. The birthers? That’s a smear. Claims with absolutely no factual basis and no relation to the election. This appears to be based on pretty good facts, even acknowledged facts. I don’t happen to think those facts are material.
But this is politics. Little nothings, like this should be, become big news. Anyone who is suprised that there’s politics in politics just hasn’t been paying attention.
SK: I’d agree that smear is probably a little strong, and propaganda would be a better choice. It is a tempest in a teacup and to bring something this nonsensical up, when California is heading into the shitter at record speed, is the height of mendacity.
God forbid we discuss actual issues, let’s focus on this insipid crap instead. Pelosi is an even bigger mess, as anyone who grew up in the Bay Area can attest (and let’s not even discuss Feinstein!).
This simply points up the balkanization of American politics and we why can no longer solve real problems anymore.
