Really? I have a big problem with their salaries considering the Attorney General of the whole freakin’ United States makes waaay less than the DA of San Diego county. And did anyone notice that the DA is also set up for an additional $12,000 pay raise on Dec 31?

Eric Holder has about as much experience as a lawyer as our DA (though his JD is from Columbia and hers is from a local law school) and he used to make $2 mil./year before he got nominated. If you’re offered a high-ranking job in the White House, you don’t turn it down just because it does not pay very well. But I don’t think it works that way for more “menial” jobs such as San Diego County DA.

ParticipantExactly Eugene, you take a political appointment from the White House not because of the money you make today but rather the for the power and influence you will be able to yield down the road that will transalte into many times your political position.
The same can be said for a SD County DA but of course the downstream pay is onconsequential relative to the payoff one gets from be US AG.
