Low-income Hispanics and Blacks vote Democratic because of the programs they depend on, programs that Democrats support. Makes perfect sense.

Perhaps low-income Hispanics and low-income Blacks see some things that low-income Whites and certain low-income Asians don’t see.

Arraya made an allusion to culture and wealth and power worship on different tread. With regard to Asians, perhaps one explanation is that some cultures are post-feudal and post-colonial. In those earlier times, kowtowing to power was a survival skill.

I’m focusing on Asians more because of Orange County. If the Vietnamese-American votes were more statistically evenly divided, and more in line with Asian-Americans in general, Orange County would have gone Democratic in 2008.

More generally, it’s clear that Republicans would never, ever, win presidential elections without the low-income Whites in the Red States. That’s why George Bush won the electoral votes and became President, whereas Al Gore got the popular vote but lost.

Those last two items are facts hard to deny.
