ParticipantI don’t know folks. I hate to bring the bad news. It’s not exactly like “organic” food has been safe lately either….Some of the way “organics” have been handled has been probably worse…A lot of the e.coli and other bacteria outbreaks have occurred due to contaminants…And these weren’t exactly from big bad corps either…
If you’re considering growing your own veggies, you also need to check the soil, fertilizer your using, and also make sure the water supply and soil where you are planting is clean too…After all, some homes are built on questionable land too. I’m just saying. Think before you decide. Because you’re “natural” solution might not be as good as you think either…

In general I don’t laugh about Monsanto. Is it really proper to identify the use of e.coli in a laboratory as something sinister?
If you want to eat frankenfood that has been modified using e.coli go right ahead. I want labeling and for the organic food that I eat to be free of genetically-modified material.
I’m happy to allow people like you to be the human guinea pig when it comes to eating frankenfoods that hasn’t gone through any human safety testing whatsoever.
The questions I would have for you is: Why take the risk? What great benefits have frankenfoods gotten us? And I’m not talking about theoretical BS benefits that might accrue some time in the future. Can you even name one benefit of frankenfoods?
I am concerned, but bullshit scare tactics don’t pass or help. The people I know who are concerned about health foods never bought into the Whole Foods chain or randomly accept labels. They grow their own or work directly with farmers or both.”Organic” is quickly becoming an association of money grubbers anyway. Why would one expect integrity to abound when inflated profits can be had with something as simple as an seven letter word? Using the term “frankenfoods” excessively is pathetically sophomoric.
