Legal is boring
January 2, 2018 at 6:14 AM #808864spdrunParticipantThe Netherlands have semi-legal pot, legal prostitution, you can drink in the street on New Year’s. Definitely not boring.
January 2, 2018 at 10:15 AM #808867FlyerInHiGuestAmerica is turning into a country of stoned slackers.
In low income neighborhoods you see so many people on disability who do nothing but smoke pot. They don’t work. Collect disability and smoke to alleviate pain (real or imaginary) which no wonder they have because of their obese fat asses. You smell the drugs everywhere.Disability benefits is about $750 i think. In San Diego, where rents are high, people share apartments. But in Vegas, you see people rent at $400-500 and spend the rest on drugs. With some under the table dealing, they get by. They worry that the market rent has now moved up to $700 + $25 utilities so they resist/resent gentrification.
In rural areas like West Virginia, where pot is not even legal, people still find ways to get it. So no different. The disability payments go farther also.

I think the culture in Europe is different. The culture here is more hardcore addiction from food to drugs. I think because the social/urban architecture in America is isolating. Combine that with a “badass” and Puritan culture and addiction induced by high fructose corn and highly refined carb consumption since childhood.
I think people who buy 500 pill jars of Tylenol for pain at Costco will graduate to smoking pot and eating pot infused cookies.

I believe legalization will bring in people on the fence and more middle, upper middle class customers and normalize smoking. But once they get habituated, they will find lower cost supplies. Maybe grow the plants at home?
January 2, 2018 at 11:15 AM #808872FlyerInHiGuestAbout real Estate, tenants must get permission from landlords.
Does anyone know the language to allow or forbid pot/drugs?My for rent ads always say “absolutely no drugs/pot” but I never had anything in the rental agreement. I’m thinking best to prohibit to avoid any liability; and if they smoke without permission, you have one more reason to terminate if needed.
January 2, 2018 at 11:38 AM #808873spdrunParticipantProhibit indoor smoking because it stinks. if people want to eat edibles, their own business.

Tylenol works reasonably well for occasional pain. And it doesn’t decrease ability to function. Pot can work well for people with chronic pain. People with chronic pain are already not functioning normally. Almost no one eats pot more than once.
January 2, 2018 at 11:53 AM #808875The-ShovelerParticipantSome Condo’s HOA’s (and apartments) forbid smoking anywhere in the complex.
(inside the condo or outside on common areas).
January 2, 2018 at 4:52 PM #808876scaredyclassicParticipantcheck weedmaps.
pot can be had for less than 100 an oz, about 3 bucks and change a gram.
its so much stronger less is needed.
with a vaporizer, one can get all the thc.
people can get really intoxicated with less than .2 grams. about 60 cents worth.
this is dirt cheap intoxication.
but now that its legal, it will have 94% less appeal.
craft beer is much more fun

I think a lot of people will do pot as pain remedy because the behavior will be normalized. And because they will “feel good”. And once they feel good, they will seek the feeling regularly. Just like eating food that is “sooo goood.”
If one takes Tylenol everyday, one suffers chronic pain in my opinion. Or maybe addiction to low level pain medication. Occasional would once every couple weeks or once a month.
We will see.
BTW, I support full legalization, but people have to be held responsible for their own decisions.
January 2, 2018 at 6:38 PM #808879spdrunParticipantIf one takes Tylenol every day, they likely suffer from liver or kidney problems as well.

I don’t go to Costco, but I do buy large jars of Tylenol (actually, generic acetaminophen) because I’m cheap. It lasts forever. No interest in pot. Plus, since I practice federal law, I have to be very careful. http://www.callawyer.com/2016/12/attorneys-and-marijuana/
