May 1, 2014 at 6:51 AM #773612svelteParticipantOK.
I need to go out and buy my wife some flowers.
She brought no baggage to our marriage, doesn’t have any traits that bother me, and actually still excites me every time I see her after decades of marriage. It sounds like I may be the only one in this electronic room that can say that.
She had zero debt, zero prior marriages, no kids, no diseases, and no old boyfriends that came back to pester her.
She doesn’t crochet, like frilly house decorations, wear too much perfume, spend a fortune on anything, pick her nose, laugh like a hyena in heat, or have any addictions.
On top of that, she is still an extremely attractive woman – even moreso than when we met. I enjoy very much watching eyes track her as we walk through a room (she’s oblivious to it)- I should also mention she’s humble and certainly not full of herself.
Yessirree, I knew a fine specimen when I saw one and wasted no time in making her mine. You all are making me realize all over again what a brilliant move that was…
May 1, 2014 at 6:52 AM #773613scaredyclassicParticipantso, back to herpes … if you ask a prospective mate whether they have herpes, they will answer yes or no. if they answer no, and they were willing to submit to a blood test, there would likely be some antibodies in their blood, which doesn’t necessarily mean they have the virus, i think, but that they were exposed at some point. the only definitive test would be a swab during an outbreak, which of course, would mean they have it.
so, someone who tells you they don’t have it, may be telling the truth. may be lying. or may be in denial. you’d have to review the data on prevalence in the san diego population, but the odds are some of your prosepctvie partners are either in denial or lying.
someone who tell you they have it is being honest and is probably far less likely to infect you.
a herpes disclosure, rather than a negative point, should probably be seen as a plus.
i think this analysis would apply to other “flaws” as well.
except for doilies. fuck that.

“Lucky!” napoleon dynamite.
If she had children and they didn’t make her crazy you are very very lucky.

my woman, unlike yours, does actually laugh a bit like a hyena. I couldn’t be with someone who I couldn’t actually make convulsed with laughter sometimes. I might put the hyena laughter above appearance, debts, or ability to orgasm.

We splurged on Briggs and Riley luggage about 10 years ago. We have never regretted it. No issues at all with quality – and their lifetime warranty is actually lifetime – not 8 years. I bought B&R after noticing some of my career road warrier friends were using it – after having bags fall apart because of abuse by baggage handlers.
Good luggage makes for less stressful travel.

[/quote]Not the only one in this electronic room. I feel the same way about my husband. No baggage, no quirks, makes me laugh out loud regularly and still attractive after all these years.
May 1, 2014 at 8:56 AM #773626NotCrankyParticipantCan’t wait until one of my kids comes home with some bat shit crazy ragamuffin.
Won’t that be interesting? It will be like pot meeting kettle all over again.
May 1, 2014 at 8:59 AM #773627NotCrankyParticipantWe travel with contractor bags, they are light, take almost any shape for storage in airplanes and cars. Cheap….we have a blast together.
May 1, 2014 at 9:00 AM #773628NotCrankyParticipantWe are terrible people, my wife and I…..just terrible.
May 1, 2014 at 9:05 AM #773624NotCrankyParticipantI had more baggage than LAX when I was young, or at least I perceived myself that way. I had problems. It wasn’t my fault I was born into the non-family that I was with all the violence drinking bad acts of all kinds and divorce and death. I know I am the only pigg who spent time in a black head of household foster home. But that all that makes a stigma that is hard to break through. I held it against myself and It was held against me.
I had to have more years of reputable adulthood under my belt than other people did to be taken seriously. Lots of women needed life experience to figure out what was important and possibly buck their judgemental parents. It was hard. I am lucky to have survived and have the relationship(s) that I do.
May 1, 2014 at 9:09 AM #773629NotCrankyParticipantBesides being cheap the contractor bags are reusable…did you know you can use super glue to put a fabric frill on them? Looks Victorian….I hate it when my wife does that.

Best not to offer any opinion.

How was your foster experience? In theory I would like to do it. But I’d be terrified in practice.
