GuestIs there a specific reason for removal other than aesthetics. There are risks associated with removal. Your roof may be damaged and eventually leak. If you allow someone on your roof and they are injured it could become a nightmare for you. The best option is to leave it up unless you simply can’t for some reason.

ParticipantProcedure:
remove bolts attaching dish to roof. Apply silicon to holesActually you don’t want to use silicon. It will not bond with the tar paper and make a good seal. It is possible to get black roofing sealant/caulk which has the consistency of tar and this is what should be used on the holes.

ParticipantMy HOA are complaining about it. Since I don’t need it I would even like to hire somebody (like the installers) and pay them to remove it.
Maybe I just need to search harder on the yellow pages? And hopefully they will remove it properly such as filling those holes correctly like someone has suggested from the previous post.October 23, 2009 at 3:54 PM #473701matula
