Whenever I read of a study of gay vs non-gay physiology – and there have been several – there is usually compelling evidence (if not outright proof) which indicates that the vast majority of gay people are born that way. Specific areas of the gay brain are sized and “wired” like the opposite gender’s, not like the straight version of their own gender.

In my mind it’s sort of like evolution. Sure, it’s still just a theory, but if you don’t “believe” in it, you’re most likely an idiot (or choosing to remain ignorant, which is the same thing).

Geez Brian. They? Really? They? Your experiences with some Asians, and some professionals, and some females, tells you that they will all act that way? You do realize that “they” is the genesis of all bigotry? Biases which become prejudices by the attribution to an entire population, a characteristic exhibited by some members of that population. It doesn’t matter that you’ve identified good characteristics. It doesn’t matter if “they” are Asian professional women, or Republicans or Conservatives or gays or any other population. Stop writing that shit. And even more importantly, stop thinking that way.
Ok, I deserved the slap. I’ll try to be a better person.

I guess if the person was white and overweight and conservative, you wouldn’t have rented to the person, even if he/she could have afforded the rent and had stellar credit….Besides the irony of the difference between your perceived open-mindedness and your actions…..
So much for fair housing/equal opportunity act there, Brian…Thanks for re-enforcing other thing I always believed….months and months of “diversity training” as a school isn’t going to do didly to make people think/act any differently if they already made up their mind….And that’s why we need laws/disciplinary acts if anyone for any reason violates other people’s rights, including if they are white/conservative, overweight…
There are housing laws, flu.
However, you have the choice to share your own home with pretty much anyone you want. You and your housemate need to share compatible lifestyles. I don’t like messy, dirty behavior and I don’t want such in my own house.
That’s completely different from being a landlord and renting out a whole house or apartment.
Actually, being a landlord myself, I would say that race, sex, sexual orientation, or other criteria don’t matter at all.
IMHO, the most important qualities in a tenant that is he/she be clean and organized, and will pay rent on time, without sob stories about late rent.

Good luck folks. Thanks to those who avoided throwing things.
