Rus, no it’s really not about a developmental moment.
They are not far from finding genetic links to being gay or straight.http://abcnews.go.com/m/story?id=4529843
I do have a sibling who is lesbian and she tried to date guys but nothing ever clicked for her until she kissed a girl. (God, I hate that Katy Perry song.) It seems that for so many it really is a question of you are or you aren’t.
C’mon Shadowfax, That ABC article is terrible to use as proof of near scientific proof of a genetic link.A couple of parents of gay kids give weak excuses to believe it was in the kid’s dna? Then a few contradictory Scientist comments equating ot a disclaimer for the whole theory?
Here is one woman in the article who believes in the DNA link, talking about her 3 year old son:
“We would play king and queen and of course, I was the king and he was the queen, you know,” said his mom, laughing. Maybe the mom was just really anxious to play king and emasculate her 3 year old son. Could she try any harder? Sounds like a whack job mom to me. She now believes it was in the boy’s dna. What does that have to do with scientific proof. This piece in nearer to pure propaganda.

Russ, to back up your theory about behavioral modification and sexual orientation, I have converted several lesbians back over to the straight side. That’s how the wizard with a big staff rolls, baby.
http://allpsych.com/journal/homosexuality.html
It’s not proven at this point, but there is strong evidence that most of one’s sexual preference is genetic.
