What isn’t pointless in life? I spend 8-10 hours a day in a cubicle writing/debugging code… Isn’t that pointless? I spend too much time cleaning up after the kids – or trying to get them to clean up after themselves… isn’t that pointless? I get pleasure from watching tv and riding my bike… but neither has a purpose or point…The things you mentioned… You see it as pointless – I see it as setting goals and making progress towards them. I’m concentrating on the saving aspect (trying to limit the spending aspect). And I’m trying not to worry… it helps that the goals appear to be within reach. I see a point in having a paid for house. I don’t see the point in worry.

[/quote]Paid off means cheap living for the rest of my
life… so less $$ goes further. Or the $$ I do have can go towards things I enjoy, rather than a mortgage payment.I can’t live in the house when I’m dead. But I can live cheap in it while I’m alive.
but in the end… everything is pointless. We’re born, we live, we die.
