ParticipantHave you tried Ball Acura in National City.
I have a 2005 RL.
When it came out.The dealers were rationing and charging a Premium,in december 2004.In Feb 2005
Ball discounted over $4000,threw in accesories.
Just like a house let them bring the final figures then give them yours and be prepared to walk.
Acura RL and MDX are not moving.
1 day before month end about 3 hours before closing, in the night. best time.
Yes try Ball Acura.

True Dealer Cost is INvoice-Less Holdback(usually 3% MSRP) less advertising (usually about $300) less finance (Usually about 250) less Manufacturers Rebate (in This case 2500. Destination charge is part of a vehicle. It is not an add on. If someone wants to argue over it it simply comes out of holdback or mark up but it is actually part of the car.
Did you pay cash on the vehicle or did you finance? Did you have a trade in?
If this is a cash price then I would say that it is a good deal.

[/quote]Raybyrnes,
Thanks for the clarification on destination charge. I thought it was always something tacked on, although dealers I worked with always said it was included.FWIW it was a Cash price.
Damnit, I forgot about the 3% holdback honda gives to dealers. Running through your numbers, and my number I get the dealer selling about $1032 above cost.
Damn, I knew I should have pushed for $100 lower. I didn’t beat my personal record.Oh well, not my car.
FWIW, I recall you mention you do a lot of fleet sales deals. Typically how much do dealers make on a car? About $2k above cost? Just curious.
