Since the medical care they receive is at a cost of only 1/2 our cost here taxes may not be so much higher than you might think. My OT here is taxed at 56% incl State, Federal etc and I still have to pay $10K a year for health insurance with high co-pays.
Really? 56%? You must be making some serious dough. $10k in health insurance? My effective tax rate is well below 35% and I’m paying ~2500-3500/year in health insurance for a family of 3 w/ $10 co-pay & excellent coverage.July 17, 2009 at 8:33 AM #432570anParticipant
It’s the same entitlement attitude that is prevelant now… they want to do anything that they please and want government to take care of them if there are negative consequences to their actions.
How many Americans are working out at least 30 mins a day? How many are avoiding a pattern of eating unhealthy foods or moderating their intake of alcohol? These days I even seen children 10 or 11 years old obese due to irresponsible and careless parents.
Unfortunately the system just cannot handle so many people getting sick, it is just not possible. How is it that in the 50s and 60s we did not have a health crisis yet we do have one now despite medical technology improving by leaps and bounds? Something does not add up here.
