Thursday, March 22, 2018.
That could go down as another really bad day for humans.
Naming John Bolton as national security adviser could end up the worst of many horrible decisions our conman loser jackass president has made or will make.
The adults have left the building, and we’re left with a bunch of foolish, belligerent, bad-tempered, improvident, impulsive, chest-thumping buffoons running the country.
We’d be better off with monkeys swinging from chandeliers, randomly pushing buttons, and screeching gibberish into phones.
December 20, 2018 at 11:17 PM #811355zkParticipantI think we’re approaching the screeching monkey phase.
And still most of the people who voted for trump don’t get it.
Imbeciles.

After the news about Mattis’s resignation came out yesterday, I checked foxnews online just to see what they were saying about it. It wasn’t even a top story – I had to search to find it on their front page. And of course all it said was that Mattis was going to resign (as though it was an ordinary transition in due course), and the article quoted TRUMP’S TWEETS, not Mattis’s resignation letter!!!!
No wonder MAGA-folk are such unrelenting Trump supporters, they aren’t even getting the news. I guess I knew this on some level, but I never look at foxnews, so this was a depressing/ alarming realization – the extent to which they’re being kept ignorant.

I looked at fox, and of course I saw the exact same thing. I would have been shocked if I had seen anything else.
As I’ve been saying for years, right-wing media are destroying our country in almost exactly the manner you describe. Where I would differ is that I think it’s worse than them being kept ignorant; they’re being disinformed. They’re constantly being fed disinformation by fox and infowars and the rest of the right-wing propaganda machine. This disinformation includes false information about liberals and their positions and their ideas and their priorities. It includes false information about conservatives and their priorities and their policies and the effects of their policies.
They’ve created an alternate universe where trump is a stable genius, democrats want as many undocumented immigrants in the country as possible, tax cuts for the rich will benefit the poor, republican men are manly and strong while liberals are all pansies, and a thousand other “alternative facts” are “true.”
They fall for it all. Goebbels would be very impressed.
December 21, 2018 at 8:47 PM #811365NeetaTParticipantOh no! I must be a deplorable. I voted for Trump! I will vote for him again unless there is a better republican on the ballot. My concern is not with what Trump is doing it’s what Gavin Newsom is doing to CA. I think you are a deplorable if you voted for Gavin Newsom.
December 21, 2018 at 9:01 PM #811367NeetaTParticipantOh no! Here I go again. I’m watching Fox News. Those guys are real deplorables.
They believe in:
1.) Low taxes
2.) Limited government
3.) Secure borders
4.) Respect for law enforcement
5.) They are anti affirmative action.
6.) They don’t believe in getting rid of plastic straws.
7.) They don’t believe in making people pay for plastic grocery bags.
8.) They believe in personal responsibility.
9.) They don’t believe in putting triangle signs on bathroom doors.
10.) They believe that certain criminals should be shot on sight.OH NO!!!!!

Neeta.
Let’s just take a step back. Look at the current state of the U.S. Forget about left versus right for just a moment.
Do you think Trump is fit to run this country? Really, look at everything that is going on…Look at this tarriff war, look at this stupid government shutdown over a border wall. Look at how we are randomly pulling out of syria , Afghanistan and how we have pissed off our our allies who we count on for intelligence….Mattias, a hard do hardliner that I personally respect can’t even stand working for Trump.
How could this possibly be good for this country?
Forget left versus right right now. Don’t you think Trump is just nothing but chaos?
And what do you care about paying more taxes? All these stupid tax increases in CA are nothing compared to the tax increase we got from the elimination of SALT deduction.. And that came from this adminstration. If you really cared about paying more taxes, why aren’t you bitching about that?
This country is really messed up. people are pretty selfish and short sighted. thank God I am close to financial independence and don’t have to give as much of a shit… because it’s going to be bad in the next few years for a lot of people…
Being in CA . you can vote for trump again, but your vote doesn’t really matter at the national level anyway. I am surprised people in CA who vote Republican St thebnstionsl level would think otherwise. I even know that.

So, basically what you are saying is, because you like paper straws and plastic bags, you’d rather vote for someone like Trump, that doesn’t mind selling out our country and making us less safe by alienating the U.S. from all our allies we count on for counter intelligence, pull out of Syria and Afgahistan, so that Russia can run the Middle East, because in your mind, plastic straws and plastic bags are as important an issue than, say international intelligence and security????
I don’t get the logic here…. You make your entire decison process on the really really important things, based on being pissed off over plastic bags and straws?? Which BTW… MANY CALIFORNIA REPUBLICANS VOTED FOR TO BAN…
BTW: Do you know why people even want to ban plastic straws???
NeetaT.. Tell me, you still don’t care??? Really?
I don’t expect you to respond. Because all of your “points” I’m willing to bet money are all are based on emotions than facts. I bet you don’t even know why some of these things exist. Somewhere along the line, you equated environmentalist, and general concern for living wildlife as a “liberals”…. If you look in CA, however, many of the champions of environmental concerns are bipartisan.
But hey, when you do your 2019 taxes this year, and notice that for your federal tax returns you are paying a heck of a lot more taxes now that you are capped at a $10k cap for both state income tax and property tax itemized deductions (assuming you are rich enough to own property in CA), you can thank the guy you voted for (even though your vote didn’t really matter), for passing on that extra tax for you. It probably won’t kill you, it probably is the difference between buying a 911 instead of a 911s…But that did come from the guy you voted for… You are welcome.
December 21, 2018 at 9:19 PM #811369NeetaTParticipantNo flu,
I don’t agree with Trump on his latest foreign policy, but I am willing to give it a little time before I pass complete judgment on his decision. I lost some money in a foreign fund due to his tariff decision, but again I am willing to give it some time before I point the finger. I think he means well he is just different to say the least.

You have to be fvcking kidding me?
It’s almost 2 years. Have you not seen all the good people that have come and gone through his administration?
There aren’t many people left who are qualified. There weren’t many people qualified who wanted to work with him to begin with…
All the really qualified are all bowing out because they know what a trainwreck he is, even Republicans…Can you honestly say, with the straight face that Nikki Haley’s replacement, Heather Nauert is “qualified”????
And Mattias….
He had all the time. 2 years. Times up. Some of the GOP are giving up. That’s why many are retiring. They don’t want to be any part of this mess.
This is beyond left versus right. If Trump goes down as the biggest Traitor to the U.S., he’s not the only one that’s going to go down.. People are going to come with their pitchforks for anyone who supported this guy.
To still say with straight face that he “could turn around”, I’m sorry. You’re just in denial….
It’s insane who he’s appointing to important positions. Forget about “qualifcations”, all you have to do is “like him” and “yes-sir”….
Have you ever worked for a n autocratic company like this? If so, do you remember what happened to this sort of company.. At a company, it’s funny, you can see it implode over time. It’s not funny when we’re talking about the country.
You people that still want to give Trump the benefit of the doubt are defying any sense of rational logic or in thinking someone that is totally unfit irrational, and lack the temperament to lead can miraculously “change” overnight and be a completely different person, like 180 degrees different..
Have you ever met anyone that extraordinary in life that actually did that? How possible do you think it is? You know the answer to that, you just don’t want to accept it..Accepting that means you admit it was a terrible decision and he’s a terrible leader, and most people don’t want to accept they were part of something this awful…
The germans didn’t want to accept they were part of something really awful too for awhile…
I wouldn’t have a problem with Pence being President. I don’t agree with most of what he says, but I’m pretty sure he’s not a lunatic. Many of you keep to rationalize the lunatic as “something new and positive”… Are you nuts????
If you own a company, would you want someone with no experience, no temperance to be running it?
December 21, 2018 at 9:50 PM #811371scaredyclassicParticipantWhen your personal lawyer is going to prison and snitching u out it’s a bad sign.
My moms friend had a roofing co that went bankrupt when trump stiffed them on a big job.
Personally I am appalled by prison rape jokes. But For trump and his family….
December 21, 2018 at 10:00 PM #811372NeetaTParticipantOK, you have to live with Trump for two more years and I have to live with Gavin Newsom for who knows how many more years until my wife’s job here in CA ends and I can move to a low tax state. According to what you guys are saying, Trump will more than likely not get elected again and that should make you happy. Two years goes by fast. All I know is that I keep seeing my taxes go up with no end in sight. High taxes is a result of too many social programs for which I am not an advocate of.

And I’ll repeat this again….
How much is your overall 2019 tax going up from 2018 because of the loss of your SALT itemized tax deductions is now capped at 10k
versus
How much is your overall 2019 tax going up due to california state tax increases…
I would guess, the former is much larger of a tax hit than all the state tax increases….
If this bothers you so much, again you are barking at the wrong tree. Do you realize that the GOP/Trump totally screwed over the upper-middle class W2 salaried slaves in high cost states, people like you specifically?
Second, you might move to a lower cost state, but you also need to look into how much you’ll be earning…
If you’re really feeling you are paying way too much taxes, then you probably aren’t spending enough time finding more tax shelters….
And I never said Trump might not get re-elected. I’m more thinking he might….But I’m just wondering why people still think this would be a good thing? Clearly, you’re taxes didn’t go down with Trump in office. They went up. While you are at it, you’re 401k probably now looks like a 301k too and pretty soon may start looking like a 201k…
And you might not need to worry about paying more taxes in 2019. You might have a capital loss now…
December 21, 2018 at 10:47 PM #811374outtamojoParticipantWow, so Gavin STILL offers the best overall situation for you otherwise you would have left already.
