TemekuT
ParticipantO.K., so I love when Wesley in “The Princess Bride” is swashbuckingly swordfighting Prince Humperdinck while all the while in a very erudite fashion discussing the prince’s impending death. No eff this eff that…

ParticipantTemekuT: Now you’ve gone off the rails! Great movie, though.
I love Billy Crystal and Carol Kane in the “Miracle Max” scene. The MLT (mutton, lettuce and tomato) riff still cracks me up.
So who in our motley assemblage gets to play The Dread Pirate Roberts?

ParticipantTemekuT, I truly respect your comment about setting an example for the kids. Taken to heart.
Allan, with the ad-hominem thing, I have a mixed take, one of those ‘Luke Skywalker’ dark-side things. I don’t mind mixing it up, but I genuinely prefer a good discussion.
Honestly, I don’t think these fringe types are open to reason. Who accuses proponents of separation of church and state of killing 100M people? How is that innocuous but calling them a dickhead in response is offensive? Talk about ‘politically correct’.
Not to dismiss your points, either of you. Trust me, I’ve considered them. And I continue to weigh your advice. It is genuine and fair advice.
I don’t know the answer. We are really off-track as a country because partisans and fringe lunatics feel like they own the place and can go around lying and attacking anybody for anything.
The moderate middle needs to assert itself. So I guess this is where I come from these days. Kick the crap out of people who say stupid things. Does that make me one of the lunatics saying stupid things? Yeah, I suppose. That’s the rub.
