I’m actually waiting for the Padres to have an off day so Tatis can pick me up in his M8. I heard he usually spends his off days driving Uber.

Perhaps, but then again what does Linkin actually “produce”?
I thought the more interesting thing is the companion article about folks leaving Silicon Valley to work remotely in other parts of the country having their salaries adjusted downward. Folks on this site seem insistent that pay is not going to be adjusted based on where the they person lives. Mark Zuckerberg begs to differ:
“We’ll adjust salary to your location at that point,” said Zuckerberg, “There’ll be severe ramifications for people who are not honest about this.”
lol linkedin connects a lot of people woth opportunities. and a linkedin profile vetted usually is enough and a replacement for a resume. ive been hired from linkedin contacts and ive reached out and poached people from linkedin. Also, it serves as a prescreen for who your peers and boss will be which could sway you decision to join company or not…Also, as one hiring vp one pointed out…Someone with 500+ connections probably isnt a fraud. Someone with 10-20…maybe more suspicious….
total game changer.

You were wrong and once again the personal attack. I proved you wrong. But it’s not like you’ve been right about much of anything missing the opportunity of a lifetime all but the most blind could see. We are used to it around here.

Proven wrong about what? That pro athlete’s drive Uber? LOL
And what personal attack? You make yourself look like an idiot with these statements, I don’t have to attack you.But hey, if you have a fetish or secret fantasy about driving Uber that’s your business. But for regular people, they are only doing it cause they need the money.

total game changer.
I trust a LinkedIn profile more than I trust a resume. If someone is connected to and get endorsed by their boss and peers at their previous companies, it means more than a few words on their resume.

yes Linkedin is a popular and useful service. But at the end of the day it is just a website. How many Engineers to you really need to maintain Linkedin? A negligible number compared to a real company like say Apple or Tesla.

As for pay, who here is suggesting that you’ll be getting paid bay area pay living in Montana?
Common theme on here pushed by several people is that Bay area folks are moving to San Diego while keeping their Bay Area salaries and that is somehow the main reason behind SD real estate prices going up.

Why did you assume that people will get to keep their bay area pay?August 3, 2021 at 4:47 PM #822819AnonymousGuest

Why did you assume that people will get to keep their bay area pay?
I’ve been arguing that they won’t. Just like I can’t expect to collect my San Diego salary if I moved to Tennessee and work remotely there.

I’ll spell it out like I’m talking to a six year old. I said I’ve thought about doing it for fun. You said people do it only for money. I said lots of people do it for fun including professional athletes. I did not say they do it regularly only that lots of people have done it for fun. You made a personal attack and called me an liar. I provided a link showing pro athletes, congressman, college presidents etc have done it among others. Above you attacked me yet again. Wrong again. Wrong pretty much every time.

And a strawman too. I’ve never commented on them keeping bay area salaries, not once. I said they came here with their jobs working remotely. I have no idea what they get paid. Not my business, not my problem
