Wow, I can really relate to this thread. I was born in Santa Monica and grew up there. San Diego has the weather but also has high home prices including crap homes for $500K. It is the shallowness of the culture that I really dislike. If you are totally focused on weather, how much money you have, or how lazy your day can be, yeah San Diego is tops. There are many places on earth where I greatly prefer the culture.
