ParticipantI actually see this as a good sign.
trump’s position on one-China failed, and he didn’t triple down on his failure like he usually does. I’d rather he be a not-very-good negotiator who can adjust to reality than a hard-nosed negotiator who will follow a failed ploy into a trade war or much worse.
It shows he can back down when he needs to, that he can adjust, and I see that as a good sign. I just hope (although I’m not all that optimistic) that this example of making a reasonable adjustment when things don’t go his way is not an isolated incident.

Participant
Lighten up Francis (zika)!
This is just a joke as the whole tirade between BG and Zika was uncalled for to begin with. You guys are really too serious.
Not sure where you’re getting “serious” from any of my posts on this thread. While some find you creepy, I find your ignorance amusing.

ParticipantAnd another winner looks to join the trump administration. Let’s take the FDA and stop it from protecting consumers. Jesus.
zk
ParticipantAnd it turns out Conway lied about lying. What a surprise.

ParticipantAnd here’s the other problem:
From the second article above:
“I hope responsible GOP legislators and cabinet members will digest and counter [Steve Bannon’s views]. Otherwise, we should all be very afraid.”
“Responsible GOP legislators” is an oxymoron any more. They’re in lock step with trump, and therefore with Bannon. A man whose stated goal is to bring everything crashing down. Pathetic, cowardly losers.
zk
ParticipantWell, it just keeps getting worse. This is, without question, the scariest thing I’ve ever read in my life:
https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2017/feb/04/white-house-agenda-collapse-global-order-war
Steve Bannon is a madman.
“Lenin wanted to destroy the state, and that’s my goal too. I want to bring everything crashing down.”
– Steve Bannon
Here’s another article:
http://www.seattletimes.com/opinion/stephen-bannons-worldview-is-deeply-troubling/
I wasn’t even looking and I found these two articles right next to each other. I’m sure a brief bit of research would turn up much more terrifying info about this lunatic.
I’m curious what you trump voters think of this. Oh, that’s right. Nobody voted for trump.

ParticipantHe doesn’t get that he’s not a dictator. I don’t think he ever will.

ParticipantWhen I saw a list of “signs of fascism” and saw something about “religion and government intertwined” and I thought, “well, at least trump isn’t going down that road.” It was the only item of 14 on the list that didn’t seem right up trump’s alley.
I should’ve known better. This is how it starts:
http://www.politico.com/story/2017/02/trump-prayer-breakfast-churches-political-activity-234539
Fascism is on its way, whether you like it or not.
Normally, I wouldn’t say, “vote democrat” or “vote republican.” I like to take each issue on its own merits, and each politician on his own merits. But, if the republicans are going to swallow whatever trump shoves down their throats (and so far, with the exception of 2 senators on the DeVos nomination, they appear to be doing just that), it seems to me that, if you don’t want fascism, you need to vote democrat in 2018.
If you want fascism to continue, be sure to vote republican in 2018.

Participant
Zk, maybe we’re out of touch elitists who read wapo and NYT every morning.
What Trump does is one thing. But his supporters….. they are clueless.
I don’t think I’m an elitist. Wanting people to be informed does not make one an elitist.
And I think reading wapo and nyt makes us in touch, not out of touch.
Yes, I think trump’s supporters are clueless. They are uninformed. They have been manipulated by “alternative facts” and innuendo. And that’s only getting worse.
https://newrepublic.com/minutes/140162/steve-bannon-wants-turn-press-new-hillary
You’ve got arguably the most powerful man in Washington (after trump – maybe) with an agenda to make Americans no longer trust the press.
How is this going to end well? Is this what you trump voters wanted? Do you want to be uninformed? Misinformed? Disinformed?
Bannon spent years getting you to hate Hillary. Do you know why you hate Hillary? Because you’re Steve Bannon’s (and Karl Rove’s) bitch:
And now he wants you to hate the press. And you will. Because you’re Steve Bannon’s bitch.

Participant
Hate to disappoint you but the rabid trump supporters I know are very enthusiastic about everything that has happened so far and are hungry for more.
That is disappointing, but not surprising. They’re still drinking kool aid and reading Breitbart.
And now that Breitbart’s philosophy is official policy (see next post)…

ParticipantI think I’m going to be sick. It’s worse than I thought.
Steve Bannon is running the country.
Trump is not smart enough, energetic enough, willing to work hard enough to come up with any sort of actual strategy. Bannon is all of the above.
Trump will continue to provide us with the worst of himself. Taking any opportunity for self-aggrandizement, taking every opportunity to attack those who disagree with him. Flying, I predict, into a narcissistic rage at some point. Never giving the slightest fuck about our country, only caring about the glory that is himself. All of this will cause massive damage to our country.
But Bannon will be in charge of long-term strategy. He will steer this country toward fascism. On purpose. Trump will be his puppet, oh-so-easily manipulated by the vastly more intelligent and aware Steve Bannon. Right now, Bannon is simultaneously stroking trump’s ego and giving him “suggestions.” Trump is putty in his hands.

ParticipantMore stupid shit from the trump administration.
http://www.latimes.com/opinion/editorials/la-ed-trump-flynn-iran-20170201-story.html
I can’t keep up with it all. His national security adviser going off half-cocked. Angering other countries with his ridiculous tweets. Bannon on the national security council. Good god. We’re all in very big trouble. And when I say we, I mean humans.
I wonder how many trump voters are thinking, “my god, what have I done?” If they were stupid enough to vote for him, I guess it’s possible that they’re stupid enough to not see the fascist tendencies he’s already displaying, the disaster that his cabinet is, the damage he’s already causing in our relations with other countries, the problems with his national security council, the dangers of his secretiveness and his vilification of the press, etc.
He claimed that the power, as of the moment of his inaugural speech, was being transferred back to the people. And yet the exact opposite is happening. And the republican congress, afraid of the attacks we’ve all seen trump direct at anyone who disagrees with him, is going along with his agenda.
I predicted a lot of bad things from this administration, but I did not think it would get this bad this fast. Let’s hope he’s just off to a fast start and doesn’t continue to wreck our country at his current pace.

Participant

Creepy for sure.

nah it is just that BG was getting trashed constantly on the forum. She must really be something for that to happen.
You seem, quite amusingly, too be under the impression that you are the arbiter of whether your posts are creepy or not.
I AM!
Not aware of how life works, and so proud of it you put it in all caps. Good for you.
