flu, you’re main issue is that you are equating CV to a porcshe GT4
Your issue is you can’t accept the fact that pricing in Carmel valley for a good home is pretty close to a gt4. Anyway, have fun renting.
renting has been very good to us, after we sold our last property while we have been gauging neighborhoods. it has provided an excellent window into life in CV without the commitment – and it gives us an edge over other buyers who are contingent on selling their own property prior to closing escrow.

If I were you and absolutely had to buy in CV I’d find a house that needs a lot of updating then do the remodel. Contact the listing agent directly and put in strong offer.
well i certainly don’t have to buy in CV. but we may end up doing that if it makes good sense. i need a contractor to walk through and do an estimate for the things we would like done. i wonder how much they would charge for that.
but i don’t throw lowballs, i.e. anything greater than 9% off list. i prefer the seller to make the first move to show some sort of understanding of the market conditions. and some will hold out or delist. that’s fine. but there’s always a seller who needs to go and they get motivated real fast if no other offers come through or if a buyer is ready to go with no contingencies.
there has been a runup in sales this year which may be due to interest rate mania, so i’m curious to see how things look after the “big event” next week and beyond.
yuhteyParticipant

AN – can i ask you do you walk into a car dealer and offer the MSRP for a car? if not, then you are surely a snob! or better yet, you can’t afford it!
I don’t complain the car I want is over priced and bash it because I can’t get it for the price I want. I’m not an entitled millennial.
this thread is full of envy and false assumptions.
i’m not a millennial.

No. But there’s a limited range of what’s possible.
http://Www.truecar.com graphs it nicely.
some go over, some go under.
if some are going under, then why would anyone want to pay at or over? if 3 doors down sells for 1.15 widgets, then why would seller x list for 1.35 widgets? and why would buyer y pay that much for seller x’s house, even though buyer y has budgeted for 1.40 widgets?
we are not talking major price slashing. fair market value has nothing to do with affordability.

yuhteyParticipant

not sure why you keep hitting on my ability or inability to buy a home in any of the areas i’ve listed.
LoL, if only you can read your own comments from the eye of someone else. Then you wouldn’t be asking this question.
HAHAHA – i could say the same thing about most of you, x1000
yuhteyParticipantthe expectation is very simple – government ought to be thoroughly investigating the people who are affiliated with this particular faith for any and all linkages to radical movements oversees.
yuhteyParticipant
some form of “you can’t afford it here” text again.
not sure why you keep hitting on my ability or inability to buy a home in any of the areas i’ve listed.
would you post your address here right now?
yuhteyParticipant

Your previous troll was well-crafted, but this one is quite ameteurish.
Given the number of OTs, this one is quite relevant to the topic of housing market.
BTW, which elementary school in Del Sur are you referring to?
I’d not buy next to a social services center either.
thank god someone gets it – it’s so scary out there, these days. willow grove elementary.
many social services buildings are un-marked for a reason, btw.
yuhteyParticipant
Your previous troll was well-crafted, but this one is quite ameteurish.
neither of these threads are trolling. this is a serious issue we are facing. there is one center that is adjacent to an elementary school off of camino del sur. are you telling me you would be comfortable leaving your children there? i would want armed guard protection at a minimum.
yuhteyParticipant
Interesting. Since my wife is in the film business, we’ve considered moving North–primarily to Malibu–but have no interest in any other locations up that way for many, many reasons and prefer RSF. To each his/her own.
this reads like you guys are hillary donors. (whole body shivers)
yuhteyParticipant
So you are a snob… Just just don’t like being out-snobbed…Lol… I think you’ll fit right in carmel valley just fine 🙂
Well gee, I guess that means you’ll be one of the parents that will absolutely want to be by either Ocean Air or Sage Canyon Elementary. Lol…
working to get a fair price has nothing to do with snobbery. i am charging that the snobbery is being unwilling to list/sell at a fair price due to CV entitlement.
yuhteyParticipantnobody is going to come back here and post that they just bought a million dollar home at address X. who would be comfortable posting that on the internet?
the drop-off observed is because the potential buyers actually buy something and move on. i’m trying to figure out maybe i will post the area, post-transaction, but nothing more. the cyber-stalking one can accomplish with the APN, LinkedIn, Facebook, etc. is staggering – if the property is not under a trust.
