ParticipantQuestions for Brother Obama-
“Circular Logic: Is Obama Responsible for Chicago’s Problems? by Kilimanjaro 09/06/2008, 11:34 AM ”
“Our best public servants enter politics because they want to change and correct problems they see in the system. Blaming them for the problems that existed when they showed up misses the point. Change is hard and doesn’t come overnight.Barack Obama has been in Illinois politics, representing Chicago’s south side, since 1997. Would we blame him for Illinois’ problems? Any objective measure indicates Chicago’s public schools are among the worst in the nation. Is Barack Obama a hypocrite for claiming he can improve education? Chicago just accepted the Governor’s offer to send in State Troopers to help fight out-of-control Chicago crime. Is Barack Obama a hypocite for claiming he can be tough on crime and defense? Chicago has one of the the highest sales tax rates (10.25%) in the country, a regressive tax on the poor because everyone pays it regardless of their income. Is Barack Obama a hypocrite for claiming he will be an advocate of more “fairness” in the tax code? The reality is that Barack Obama is no more responsible for Chicago’s historic problems than Sarah Palin is for Alaska’s.”“The real question is what in their legislative experience gives us confidence that they will be able to accomplish what they say they will. Sarah Palin has begun hammering away at Alaska’s problems, affecting some positive reforms. Can we say the same for Barack Obama in Chicago?”

ParticipantSo now life is imitating cartoons. On that note, I will bring up something else about Sarah’s beauty secrets: her lipstick.
“The OODA loop is a concept coined by fighter ace John Boyd. It stands for Observation-Orientation-Decision-Action.
You see something. You figure out what it means. You decide what you’re going to do about it, and then you do it. The winner in a dogfight is the pilot who goes through the OODA loop faster.”“But Mr. Obama has a legitimate beef with the news media. Were it not for their vicious, baseless characterizations of Ms. Palin and her family, the audience for her speech would not have been comparable to his in the Barackopolis. Nor could she have delivered to Mr. McCain on the following night an even bigger audience than Mr. Obama attracted. For Republicans, the irony is delicious.”

ParticipantI cannot argue with that logic, John. I think HC did show grace when the media decided who they wanted to be the candidate. Fifty years ago the media went in search of truth, now they are just in search of stories that shore up their world view. They used to report the news and now they are the news. It is really the world turned upside down and that is why they hate Palin. She is a positive foil to their negative group think. She gives birth to a “defective child” that they would surely have aborted. After all, they abort non defective children because they are inconvenient. I think Sarah Palin’s life proves the twin gods they worship, power and fame, to be irrelevant. And that is the bitterest truth of all. So they are out to destroy her, but they will destroy themselves in so doing, by showing who they really are.
