Is that bad?
UCGal: Yeah, but what if I wasn’t kidding?!?
Then I’m terrified. From your posts you’re heavily armed and have access to lots of explosives. Yikes.

Participant
UCGal: This is a financial decision. If I held out to the end of my ARM (another 2.5 years) I don’t think values would go up enough to enable me to refinance. I think I will have job trouble in the future and am just taking the hit now.
As long as you are willing to take the consequences (credit hit from a forclosure), it sounds like you’ve thought things through. You are in a better position than many since you have a non-recourse loan.
As I said before – I’m not surprised the bank didn’t act in their own best interest. Long term views have gone out the window, it’s all about short term views. Xboxboy makes a good point – the person who got your file might not have any incentive to work with you – and it will be more work if they do.
Good luck going forward.

Participant
You ain’t gonna believe this. Just had to listen to another Jeff Bridges Hyundai ad on the TV Machine.
Paddy – can you do all of us a favor and get yourself a Tivo or some other DVR. Perhaps if you are able to fast forward through commercials you won’t obsess about which celebs are in them.
I truly do not understand this Don Quixote quest of yours to label everyone who doesn’t agree 100% as unamerican and to protest a paid gig that Jeff Bridges took. But it appears that Jeff Bridges and Hyundai are your windmills.
If you are so upset about Jeff Bridges and Hyundai may I respectfully suggest that you
a) don’t buy a hyundai
b) don’t go to Jeff Bridges movies. But please stop trying to force your view on the rest of us. We aren’t in the same Quixotic haze – see windmills, not dragons and maids in distress.
