ParticipantI read the comments on calculated risk a lot… Regular commenter LawyerLiz is a foreclosure attorney practicing in FL. She stated today that everything south of Palm Beach is effectively red-lined for residential mortgages. I think the housing still has a ways to go before it normalizes in FL. And it’s a judicial foreclosure state – so it may take longer to get all the foreclosures through the court system.

This is my issue also. I like a varied topography that includes mountains.UCGal

During the boom everyone was making money… but academically speaking, when the riskiest, most sophisticated mortgage products (toxic mortgages) were being sold to the poorest and least educated people (sub-prime) then what did they expect?[/quote]I think we can all agree that the housing implosion was not “contained” to the subprime loans. I’ve seen quite a few short sales and foreclosures where the purchase loan or refi loan was not sub prime or even alt-A.

ParticipantI don’t know if skylights need permits. We had a solar tube installed by the manufacturer – and they didn’t pull a permit.

ParticipantAnd that number is low compared to venezuela @31.9/100k and So. Africa @ 68/100k. There may be even worse – I didn’t go through all the countries.
