ParticipantIn the EU, carseat/booster seat rules apply to kids under age 12 – based on height… 135cm (53.1″)
Basing it on the kids size makes sense to me. My kids are giants – my 9 year old is over 5′, and my 7 year old is 4 and a half feet. My 7 year old is quite a bit taller than some of his older brother’s peers.
I like the EU system of basing it on height much better than the random laws around the US. In Pennsylvania kids need to be in boosters until age 8. My almost 8 year old is 4’6.5… taller than many 10 or 11 year olds. We have to haul a booster with us when we visit family in Philly.
I also want to agree with flu about hand me down seats… The plastic gets brittle over time in a hot car – most manufacturers suggest retiring a seat after 5 years… but you see carseats on craigslist, at garage sales, etc that are much older.

We do – Mission Valley has lots of townhouse communities with garages. UTC has some. They call them townhouses – but they’re rowhouses… Just newer than the east coast stuff.I think I’ve mentioned this before – my husband grew up in a 3 bedroom rowhouse with 4 brothers and a sister. (Yes, 6 boys shared a room!) It was about 1200sf total. They didn’t feel deprived – because everyone else in the neighborhood had similar sized families. (Good Catholic neighborhood in North East Philly.)

ParticipantI see your comparison…
But I guess I see the problem as more than a sex scandal… Sure his trying to cover up an affair led to his firing. But he also chose to ignore his contract when he hired on with Oracle – and that had nothing to do with sex… That just shows that he thinks rules don’t apply to him. You know he had some legal type or HR type make sure he understood the rules he needed to abide by when they were getting signatures for his fabulous parachute. He knew he was breaking the rules.
I guess I just get annoyed by powerful people who think they’re above the rules… and Hurd seems to fit the bill.

ParticipantSo…
Just curious…
Is it ethical/ok/admirable that Hurd lied on his expense reports to cover up an affair?
Is it ethical/ok/admirable that Hurd dismisses his contractual obligations of his non-disclosure agreement?
I know you’re a fan, flu… but I’m thinking this guy is pretty slimy. Based 100% on the events of the past few months. Maybe he really is an upright, honest, guy… but I wouldn’t want to do business with him because he seems to play fast/lose with facts and contracts.
