Participant
I don’t consider myself an old-timer of San Diego. However, I’ve been here a while and since we are reminiscing, can I add a couple of bars to the list?
You remember when In Cahoots used to be Confetti’s (as an added bonus, you remember Sunday nights was Piranha room)
You remember when Rich’s used to be The Metro (as an added bonus, you remember one night a week it was Shards of Glass)
I had to look up what it is today. They’ve changed so many times, but you remember Johnny V used to be Emerald City and before that Mannikin’s.
You remember The Tavern used to be the Daily Planet.
You remember there was a Red Onion in Mission Beach.
I’m sure there’s way more on that list. The way people drink, I’m surprised at the changes. How can you fail if you’re a bar? Maybe they were drinking the profits.
You remember when the Casbah was even smaller on the other side of the street…
And when the Spirit club was one of the few places to see original music (vs cover bands). Now it’s brick by brick.
Metro… that brings back memories from the 80’s.
Remember Mother’s in PB? (I think Trader Joes is there now… could be wrong about the exact location on Garnet). How about Jose Murphy’s… where you could see members of almost any band jamming together on Sunday afternoons.

Participant
You considered the Shores, “My Beach” and referred to people from out of town with no tans as, “El Cajoners”.
You remember when the yellow rafts at the beaches and everyone who rented them were “tourists”.
YES!!!Except we’d talk mom into renting one for us about once a summer.

Participant#38… my boss fits this.
#47… I rode my bike from Governor Dr to University the day before 805 was opened. I remember 52 going in from 5-805… then extended to Mast years later.
#44 – they forgot the Midway, the Pacific and the Campus drive ins. The campus had a neon cheerleader with spinning baton. We went regularly to drive ins as kids.
#50 – as kids we went to the Hotel Del for Christmas dinner… ferry boat across the harbor. We stopped when they built the bridge.

ParticipantIt seems that she’s discouraging you from a significant portion of the market.
Downsides of short sales and foreclosures.
– both need approval from the bank… which can take more time than a traditional sale.
– with short sales you also need approval from the “seller”. Ego’s could get in the way.
– with short sales there can be 2nd lien holders that can kill the deal.
– with short sales there are often short sale negotiators mandated by the listing agent… and paid for by the buyer. That said – the market has too many foreclosures and short sales to ignore that inventory.
