ParticipantYou do understand that you are required to pay duty on them when you bring them back across the border.
Back in the day, my dad used to get autobody and auto upholstery work done in TJ. He was totally busted when he was driving his car back across the border and the US Customs agent smelled the fresh paint. His savings were wiped out in duty costs.
I’m not saying it may not be cheaper to buy them there- but be prepared to pay import duty. When they ask “anything to declare” they mean more than drugs and illegals.

I really don’t want a war on obesity. The last two wars (on drugs and on terror) proved to be very expensive and did not produce meaningful results.
+10!!!
Anytime they declare a war on something you that your rights are going to be trampled and the “thing” will win.
We still have drugs. We still have terrorists. But we’ve lost some privacy freedoms from the war on terror and the war on drugs.UCGal

Participant
Dishwasher is a MUST. This is a no-brainer. If you are short on space, get the Paykel drawers. They look smaller and are very high-end.
I agree – get a fisher and paykel drawer unit. You can save 1/2 the space that way.
It would definitely go in the “cons” side of pros/cons if I was looking at a house without a dishwasher.
That said – I do a fair amount of hand dishwashing… mostly the larger pots/pans that take up too much room in the dishwasher – or my good cast iron and le creuset cookware.

Motorola Xooooooooooooooooooooom….
I love this thing…. It just kicks butt… I mean, maybe not $800 awesome (thank god I didn’t pay for it out of my own personal expenses) but definitely different…..
Now if Sanjay would only price the darn thing appropriately…Like how about a wifi-only version for $399.
Then maybe, just maybe, MMI might give Apple a run for the money….
+100
I want one. But can’t afford one.
Maybe you should have taken out some student loans to go to grad scholl so you could make more money and be able to afford things like this;)
LOL.
Actually, I misspoke. I can afford it. I just choose to keep that money in savings for other goals. It’s a want… not a need. And it’s hard to justify $800 on a want.
I’ll admit it. I’m cheap.
