Participant
TheBreeze, there is a blog I have read by the same name. Is that you? If so, I think nearly your entire existence has been on govt projects. Obama is perfect for you – you get paid by tax dollars, either from the govt directly, or by a govt contractor.
I’ve never heard of that blog. Nope, I actually work for a profitable business that funds its payroll through actual profits. According to the chart on this page, my income is somewhere in the top 6%:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Household_income_in_the_United_States
I work for a company that makes things that people actually want/need.
Let me make some guesses about you:
(1) You are in some type of ‘finance’ industry; and
(2) You fashion yourself as some type of Captain Capitalism even though any profits your business pulled down over the last 8 years were actually subsidized by taxpayers in the form of today’s $10 trillion Republican Bush administration bailout.I assume you work in finance, because all my life I’ve worked with people who actually produce real things that people want/need, and I’ve never come across one person with as simplistic a world view as you have. Only Bush cronies can see life in such black-and-white as you do. Did you happen to inherit your current business?

Here’s an update on ‘Joe’ the plumber:
His current income is $40K per year. He would actually pay less taxes under Obama’s plan than under McCain’s. The business he wants to buy only grosses $100K, so even if he did buy the business, he would still pay less under Obama’s plan than under McCain’s
Plus, he may or may not be related to Charles Keating, he of the Keating Five scandal.

McCain should have done a little more vetting before he decided to make Joe famous. Basically everything that McCain railed on in his debate last night vis-a-vis ‘Joe’ is wrong and Joe will be better off under an Obama administration.
How could anyone vote for McCain? The guy just exudes incompetence.

No I do not. If you look at their two tax plans, you’ll see you’ll pay less taxes w/ McCain’s plan if your HHI is more than $112K. Do your research. How do you make less than $112K and be living in CV and drive a Prius? No wonder you what to “spread the wealth around”.
Actually I didn’t realize that the tax rate under McCain would be lower for those making over $112K. It doesn’t matter though. A few hundred or a few thousand in taxes either way isn’t going to affect my vote.
I will still vote for Obama because Republicans have distorted conservatism into socialism for the rich. Just like it makes you ill to think about a poor child getting a reduced-priced lunch, it makes me ill thinking about some crooked 25-year old investment banker driving around in a Maserati receiving millions in a bailout from Bush. I find it totally unconscionable and disgusting and it will be a long time before I ever vote for another Republican to be President. There is just too much at stake.
