ParticipantBeing on the receiving end of everyone else’s pet peeves.
Seriously there seems to be a lot more people these days who seem to always want to make a really big deal out of very small things.

ParticipantI have definitely changed my mind,
I do encourage all y’all to move on over to Texas,
Especially y’all who live in Carlsbad coastal area(s).September 5, 2014 at 7:34 AM in reply to: Realtor didn’t inform seller of back up offer — is this wrong? #777831The-Shoveler
ParticipantI think UCGal’s got this one,
If the first (or previous) offer was accepted by the seller, the only one who can break it is the buyer that is the way I understand it.
presenting your offer to the seller after the first offer was accepted probably would not get you anywhere unless you could bribe the other buyer to drop the contract.
Anyway IMO.

ParticipantAll you need to do is design it with strong sense of self-preservation,
hmm on second thought it may decide that if you turn it off then that would be a threat, or maybe you would want to junk it and get a new one and that would be a possible threat, so maybe it would remove your seat belt and open the door while making sharp turn at high speed. Then get with the fuel Bot to keep refueled.
OK maybe this is not such a good Idea this AI stuff.

ParticipantI want to see this thing hit the market.
Great for just commuting to work and back IMO.
Volvo was never high on my list of cars I want to own.

ParticipantIf you take a C student and move them to CV it’s not going to automatically make him/her an A student.
He/she has to want it.The-Shoveler
ParticipantOK I will concede the point that a school in a not so good area will still be a substandard school as far as environment, activities etc…
But the difference between a great school and an OK school today will become almost nil soon.
It will be more about neighborhoods that school districts IMO.Besides I have seen some very exceptional students come from the worse schools in L.A.
It’s a lot more about the student than the school IMO.The-Shoveler
Participant

I think there’s a great chance of rioting if they redraw school district lines in carmel valley :(
What’s happening in Ferguson is sad, and I hope there is some resolution soon. I don’t think there will be any easy answers.
To flu’s point concerning something like this happening in San Diego. Even though it might seem improbable, it’s probably true that the only time an issue would reach that level of protest here would be if it concerned school districting, etc.
Along those lines–I’m still amazed there aren’t more “protests” from recent college grads (or their parents) when they find out 90% of them aren’t getting the jobs they want when they graduate.
School redistricting will soon be a moot point, seriously how long do you think it will be before all these general ed courses will all be standardized computer generated courses and all schools in SoCal will be require to teach exactly the same computer generated course for every class.
To get something special you will need to go private, but they will probably make them use the same standard as well LOL.Both my niece and nephew were very disappointed that they had to take PV Jobs after earning a Master’s in computer science. They did not seem to understand you need to get your foot in the door and get some experience, oh well maybe they will be happier when they get their PHD’s LOL.

ParticipantI know I am mostly alone in this (well maybe a few others), but I have absolute faith in the feds ability to control interest rates.
And I believe the fed is most concerned about two things, pensions and jobs, both of which are directly and indirectly (property tax) effected by the housing market.
I think they really do want to see some much needed wage inflation catch up on the lower end workers (they are going to great length to accomplish this IMO).
Anyway IMHO.
One last thing I would add, I believe we are about to relive the 80’s. the pump is primed.

ParticipantI don’t know what Scaredy’s take is but my view is mostly stable to more or less normal market from here. (IMO it would take the lenders and the builders to go crazy again to really get a big downturn going, 10% that can happen anytime, 30% now that takes something unusual).
But I think the point that a 700K home is not usually a good rental is valid as well.
So maybe it does boil down to “are you planning to move back?”

ParticipantLOL, My wife forced me to give the two cars a sponge bath this weekend. (no hose allowed LOL).
Well it rained last week and they were really dirty so she had a point.

ParticipantI don’t see a big downturn in housing in SD IMO.
10% can happen because it’s Sunday however, but holding long term I think you will do well.
anyway IMHO.
