very interesting…I moved to a new house last year in August of 2010. It was the first time I had to pay for H20 also. I was in the previous house for ten years but the landlord paid the water.
My water bill is about $75 dollars/every 2mo….with 5 people on a 1/3 of an acre…!
However, I’m in the Helix water district and I don’t have much lawn, but I do have 6 fruit trees, bamboo and some Jalapenos π
I’d like to know what the “normal” water bill is too.

TexasLineParticipantYour post is most definitely “OT” in a “housing” forum…but let me tell you a story…
In the early 90’s(1991 or ’92) I was hangin’ out at the Stage Door in P.B. I actually “hung out” enough to know the regulars…that’s another story. Anyhow, it was a busy weekend night and I was playing pool in the corner with a guy who came in quite a bit. He was about 6′ 4″, slender, long curly blond hair – about 210lbs. but you could tell he worked out(had some muscle). He was about 45 years old.
He had a wife who was a real “looker”. She was blonde, thin, but always dressed, well…in a revealing way: kinda hung out a little bit, if you know what I mean.
Everyone who was “regular” always respected him and his wife. He was a pretty good guy. Gentle and quite-never caused any trouble. He played pool like an expert and was a good challenge, but no one dared mess with his wife.
This particular night, one particular overly intoxicated male started hitting on the lady. He had no idea what pot he was stirring. After an hour or so of him trying his darnedest to “get the girl” and being told numerous times by her, the husband and everyone else that this particular women was not interested or available something happened as fast as lightning. I’ll never forget it.
I’m on one side of the bar, they are on the other. It’s a curved bar; everyone is standing and leaning on the bar. The husband is directly across from me about 10 feet away, his wife is next to him and the drunk guy is to my right about 5′. The drunk guy just wont stop hitting on the lady.
Finally, my 6’4″ muscle man, pool playing partner, tells his wife to back up, and lets fly a fist with his huge arm reach that connects directly to this guys face. There was no delay. He went down to the ground without a whimper, or any hesitation. He was out cold, and out hard.
People in the bar heard and saw this. There was a moment of silence,…out of respect for the husband who just put down the annoying drunk…then, everything continued as normal. People walked over that guy for ten minutes before he woke up. He staggered to the bathroom.
I went in to check on him because I felt bad for the idiot. His face was really messed up…he left.
I’ve never seen anyone go down so hard, so fast with one single blow.
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it. π
