svelteParticipantlol @ TG
That Laurel Glen house actually is quite appealing – something we’d consider if we were in the market. But it does appear way overpriced, not that i know that area well.
As for our interior decorator, we couldn’t get her to beta test the installation which is quite unfortunate. That would have been quite the sight. π

svelteParticipantWell we just wrapped up a complete remodel last year, wifey’s request. We hired an interior designer and bought all new Viking appliances, 6 sinks, 4 toilets, 2 tubs, 9 faucets, 10 light fixtures, and on and on. It came out so awesome the contractors took pics for their portfolios.
It’s all the stuff the guys on this forum hate: travertine, stainless, granite, wood floors but I have to tell you I love it as much as wifey. Very nice stuff. Yes, all these materials have their drawbacks, but so does any material. It’s a pick your poison type of situation.
We had sold our previous home and tried renting, but it didn’t work for us…I have a small sports car collection and couldn’t stand having them stored offsite, and wifey didn’t think the landlord would appreciate us installing the infamous pole from this thread…no, I’m not joking and it was her idea not mine! You’d be surprised at how many BRs we’ve seen with them, actually. It’s a whole new world out there. Our designer didn’t bat an eye. We were very unhappy renting so we bought a fixer and gutted it.
Neither of us are shoppers, so we are weary of making decisions and are now taking a breather before we start the next phase: furnishing the beast!
Was it worth it? Yeah, it was. Would we do it again? Not for another 10 to 15 years…too damn much work, even if you farm it out!

svelteParticipantI don’t know if they are still at it, but Scientology had a history of suing the living crap out of ppl who said derogatory things about them in the 1990s. There was one newsgroup in that era where a group of ppl took to bashing Scientology (exposing it in their minds), and they found themselves in court in short order.
From my recollection, the ppl in that newsgroup claimed Scientologists had some sort of means of getting you to admit problems from your past (I think it was those tin can things CMcG spoke of?), recording those and then using them as leverage to keep you in the fold. I have no idea if that’s true or not.
