Stumbled across this today. I know it can be folly to predict something 80 years out, but the long term trend lines point to the world population falling by 2100.
Japan 128M falling to 53M
China 1.4B falling to 732M
Spain 43M falling to 22M
US 328M going up to 364M (2062) then falling to 286M“Falling fertility rates are mostly associated with increasing education and work availability to women and access to contraception. In other words, over the course of the last half-century women able to and choosing to have fewer children.”
svelteParticipant
FYI, already had a handful of cases where an office visit where a patient started to explore a conspiracy theory with me and the visit ended with the said patient heading to the pharmacy for an anti-depressant.
Wow! One of those face-to-palm moments! Article makes so much sense why folks with those traits are more likely to believe in conspiracies.
Very enlightening, thanks OC.
Moments like this make me feel very dumb.
svelteParticipantsvelteParticipantMy experience in this area is limited, but I have seen similar situations so here goes.
My concern is that the guarantor is in a different state. That would complicate the ability to sue them should your renter fail to pay. I was peripherally involved in a similar situation years ago, and the problem was serving them, which court system was appropriate, etc. It was complicated and the person owed the money eventually decided it was going to cost him more money to get a judgment than he would receive in the judgment so he dropped it.
Others probably have more recent and a closer match experience.
svelteParticipantLooks like Georgia’s Republican senators want the Georgia Secretary of State to resign simply because the election did not go their way.

svelteParticipantThat book must have a Democratic slant because now Amazon is presenting me with a laundry-list of Democratic-leaning books to buy!
svelteParticipantRut-roh.
Trump’s temper tantrum has started.

svelteParticipant

It really is funny. Science trolled Trump.
POETIC JUSTICE. He didn’t believe in science.
Here’s a conspiracy theory, it’s not a coincidence that this news is released a few days after the election OR IS IT?
I think it just came when it did but it would make me happy if they waited on purpose
Yeah, I’m undecided if they waited on purpose.
If they had, I think it is the right thing to do as releasing it beforehand might have unduly influenced the election. Kind of the way companies often wait to announce news until after the markets have closed. Give people a good long time to mull it over and not make a rash buy/sell move.

Romney is actually a pretty decent guy. a few of us rudely interrupted his dinner one time in LJ because a colleague of mine who was a huge fan (democrat moderate friend) spotted him. He asked him if he was planning on running in 2020.. Romney laughed…
I have always liked Romney. Always liked McCain too.
They do their own thinking and don’t take a position just because it is in their party platform. They chart their own course which I admire greatly.
svelteParticipant“Early indications suggest that Biden won a full 10 percent of Arizona Republicans.”
DT lost Arizona all on his own, through his own behavior.
Cindy never forgot what he said about John.
Arizona Republicans never forgot what he said about John.
I never forgot what he said about John.https://www.politico.com/news/2020/11/08/john-mccain-arizonas-gop-defeat-donald-trump-434913
Don’t mess with Cindy.
Look at her eyes in that first photo. She was out for blood and I don’t blame her one bit.
svelteParticipant
Bottom line, I highly recommend it.
Ok. I ordered it on your recommendation. hardcover for under ten bucks, can’t go wrong I guess.
svelteParticipantBetter make sure you hit them with enough to disable them or they just might grab it from you and use it on you.
svelteParticipant
I think even if money matters to some people, being alive to spend it and having places to spend it safely ALSO matters.
True.
Just read this article. I think it is probably pretty accurate:
https://www.politico.com/news/2020/11/07/this-f-ing-virus-inside-donald-trumps-2020-undoing-434716
Sounds to me like three things led to a Biden victory:
1. COVID (health became a primary issue)
2. Trump’s response to COVID (showed his weak leadership skills)
3. VP Selection (money just poured into the Biden campaign after Harris was selected)It’s so tough to unseat a sitting president, I doubt Biden would have won if one of those things were missing.
svelteParticipant
Sometimes in life, people figure out money isn’t the most important thing. Especially for people who really have a lot of it and don’t have insecurity issues about it…A lot of “poorer” people are pretty happy as they don’t have the mentality that money is a yardstick for one’s self worth…
So true Coronita.
I would say that if I were to sum up this election in two words, they would be “Character Matters”.
