For an example of the right thing to do, look at Willem Kolff who released the plans for a dialysis machine into the public domain in the late ’40s, rather than “patenting and profiting.”

I hear you on being closer to the city, but it isn’t hard to get into SD during off hours from the north if you’re only going once or twice a week.

If he persists in harassing you, put up a camera (even if fake). His behavior may not rise to the level of harassment or disorderly conduct, but he may behave himself if he knows that he might end up with a lawsuit on his hands.

Say you open your car door and it’s touching the drywall. You don’t set the e-brake and the car rolls back a bit. That tends to do bad things to drywall, ask me how I know 🙂

Could be worse. A friend of mine had issues with a homeless guy repeatedly defecating on the front steps leading down to his cellar. Ended up having to cover the steps with a wood platform and put planters on top of it, using the rear entrance instead.
