ParticipantThey’ll still have to take your debt to income into account unless you’re getting a portfolio loan for a non-owner occupied property.

Problem solved.

ParticipantI don’t think I’d want to go to the “fitting room” for the latter product 🙂

ParticipantI was at B&H this morning — quite crowded. Do East Coast people still shop more at brick and mortar?
I’m not looking forward to a future of everyone rolling around in self-driving sensory-deprivation bubbles and with most commerce coming from big-box warehouses in flyoveria staffed by robots and/or minimum wagers. People who are yapping about “disrupting the next thing” should really think about the kind of world that they want to live in.
Imagine if technology is used to enhance, rather than disrupt. To use one example: instead of creating an industry manufacturing suits in China using bio-robots paid $1 per hour, selling them online, and shipping them to the consumer, try a different model. You go into a store in suburban Boston, cameras take measurements of your body. A salesman/tailor goes through different options, gives fashion advice, etc. A heavily automated on-site “factory” creates a tailored suit that fits perfectly and is available within 24 hours. Humans make any last-minute alterations, but most of the work is done by machine, and you can get custom, interesting goods for a reasonable price.

ParticipantWonder how many people are borrowing up to the forehead to buy those things. I suspect that 90% of the people you see are just doing a good job in pretending…

ParticipantRun it on good hardware and it’s plenty responsive. Windows phone is a bad joke, iOS is slightly better.

ParticipantI would only go to the Shack as a last resort and I always felt like I got ripped off when leaving.
Agreed that they were overpriced, but you were paying for convenience.

ParticipantRS used to sell 741 and 386(?) op-amps. 8 legs likely means a clone of one of those.

ParticipantSoftware or not, software still needs something to interface with. As far as programmable multi-function chips, they still need circuitry to interface with the outside world.
I don’t think that cloud VM’s affected Radio Shack much — their core market hasn’t been small server hardware for at least a generation.
Chalk it up to that fucking wrecker Bezos as well as soft-handed millennial twits.

ParticipantHaven’t upgraded yet, but I like the fact that they fixed the handling of SD cards after breaking it in 4.4 (Kit Kat). I don’t use kloud-krap storage, so being able to get data on and off the phone via SD card is a much-have feature.

ParticipantShame. A couple within walking distance of me and they’re good for quick and dirty parts for projects when you don’t want to fucking wait two fucking days for Amazon or DigiKey ordering. Blame it on millennial twitter-twits who are too scaredy catted to get their hands dirty — yes to programming, but zOMG you might inhale some HEAVY METALS if you SOLDER!

ParticipantIf one wanted to destroy the Islamic State, they could make sure it wouldn’t be able to negotiate for ransom and that it was seen even by many radical Muslims as using methods beyond the pale. By killing their hostage in a particularly brutal manner while still “negotiating”, the Islamic State has accomplished both as well as provoking the bloodlust of the pilot’s tribe in Jordan.
I wonder if an intelligence agency (say Mossad or even Jordanian mukhabarat) was able to infiltrate (or even create) a particularly brutal faction of the organization and cause it to do things that generated extremely bad publicity.

Participant30+ years isn’t going mainstream as long as QM is in place, since it requires 30 year max, fixed-rate loans.
This being said, if a 100-year fixed product existed, and principal+interest were lower than a 30-year fixed, then it would make sense for some people. Especially if it were assumable.
Say you’re buying investment property in a major city (NY or SF) where cap rates are low, intend to collect the income and NEVER sell, but rather pass it to your heirs. A 100-year fixed loan would make a hell of a lot of sense in that case.

ParticipantGot to love bubble-pimping touts like the arsehole below:
“These markets are very expensive by any measure, and they’re forecasted to get worse,” Jonathan Smoke, chief economist of realtor.com said in a statement. “That’s why consumers looking for affordable options need to act as soon as they can.”
