ParticipantJeebus X. Khrist on a unicycle, no sense of humor here?
I’m all for watching a good political fight. ding-ding-ding BRING IT!

ParticipantFear increases cortisol levels which leads to obesity, which we’re all being taught to be legitimately terrified of. Vicious cycle, can’t win.
But it’s OK. If we gain enough weight collectively, we won’t have to worry about our kids playing outside since they’ll not have the strength to do so.

ParticipantMaybe you should go into divorce law — should grow by at least 10% in the next few years…
In all seriousness, court’s been on a roll the past week or so. Between the LAPD motel register privacy case, the ACA case, and this.

Participant$14/hr = $98 for basically a whole day, minus gas expenses, minus supplies if any, minus taxes. Give her the raise and be happy she’s only asking for $14.

ParticipantI guess if you can’t speak to the subject at hand (Americans are a bunch of paranoid, mostly stupid nanny-staters), you have to speak about the sex life of someone you don’t know. Lol. The person who makes the ad-hominem attack loses.

ParticipantBelieve it of not, you can still do that in states that aren’t run by petty fascist motherfuckers. Town I grew up in doesn’t even have school busing, so it’s normal that kids walk to/from school and activities, and no cop would look twice at a school-age kid who’s outside unless the kid looked hurt. (The town also put out a warning to parents not to drive kids to school if possible in the local paper — they said it increases traffic and endangers pedestrians.)
This being said, as a whole, FUCK the average American TV-watching sheep and FUCK the US mainstream media for perpetuating a culture of fear during a time where crime is down. Proof that most Americans are microcephalic sheep:

So glad they won in court. Hope they own the police department and CPS by the time the lawsuits are done flying.

ParticipantBS. In 1970, average home size was around 1000 sf and families were bigger.

ParticipantThey’ll accuse you anyway, since you obviously have a guilty conscience. Can’t win 🙂

ParticipantWhat % of those visitors went by choice vs due to business conventions or for business in the “city?”
I don’t really believe in the free market — most of the world’s population are sheep.

ParticipantThe “every choice is as good as any other choice” argument is fallacious. I mean, some people choose to shoot heroin or smoke crack due to their risk assessments.

ParticipantIf you’re working 10 hours a day and commuting 4 hours round trip, that’s not living. That’s slow suicide.

ParticipantThere’s a reason why it’s cheap.
And I don’t stay indoors in winter. It’s a lot easier to put on an extra layer than get nakeder than naked. And besides, seeing most Vegans naked would be harmful to eye health 🙂

ParticipantThank G-d that my parents weren’t a bunch of wusses like the average mammal on this board. They drove an older car, lived in a condo, but made sure that they (and the kids) had an opportunity to travel and learn. Americans are way too fearful and risk-averse, and anglo Californians are near the top of this list unfortunately.
I mean, where else can you go to a Starbucks and see a sign that coffee products may cause cancer, or get on a train and see a sign that diesel exhaust may cause lung disease?
And lastly, I work exactly as hard as I need to work. Jealous?
I mean, look at some people on here. I’ve heard them say, no point in living very close to the beach, because who has time for that anyway?
