ParticipantBernie Sanders is too White, too boring and looks too much like a college professor. He won’t get the nomination.
Depends if we have the good luck to see Hillary withdraw for medical reasons right before the primary. She’s already had one “incident.”

ParticipantIf you have a paid-off home with low taxes, how can you possibly ill afford living in SD Co? Other than housing and maybe gasoline, costs of living aren’t much different from the rest of the US.

ParticipantWell, it did happen on a LIRR “normal” speed train in the 90s — unfortunately, no one beat hell out of the shooter.

ParticipantOnly mistake was not tossing the SoB out the door at 250 km/h right before the train passes an overhead wiring pole. Would have saved the French the expense of locking the POS up.
I really hope this won’t lead to increased security controls or bag searches on European trains. This should be thought of as the cost of doing business, not a world-shaking event.

ParticipantProp 13 isn’t the problem. Limiting property tax (essentially a regressive tax) to 1% and change of purchase price is good policy. So is limiting increases per annum. What stinks are the protections against revaluation when a property is transferred, if the transfer is done in a “clever” manner.

Participant^^^ Yep!

ParticipantHave you actually been to a third-world country and seen their housing? We don’t have things like electric shower heads (look it up).

ParticipantDidn’t we complain about “mick”, “daigo”, “bohunk”, “polack”, etc immigrants 100 years ago? That turned out so badly. Yep, they really destroyed the US from the inside. Dirty Communistic scum.

ParticipantAs long as you provide the same # of key copies as the landlord originally provided when you move out…

It doesn’t matter — you go back to the hotel to sleep, with a fan blowing on you and windows open. Actually, I just stayed in a hotel in Montreal with no A/C. No real big deal.
I actually don’t like to sleep with an A/C running. The temperature gradient from the air blowing tends to give me a sore neck and headache.

ParticipantI’d rather be happy and in harmony with nature than smart. Intelligence is overrated.

Participant75F is comfortable in summer clothes. The answer is that I’d prefer to live in a climate where I can be outside most of the year. In winter, you can put on more clothes. In summer when it’s 115F out, you can’t do a damn thing about it.
