I’m White. Being a new kid in my town, I got tons more cr@p from other White kids in high school than from my Black, Asian, or Latino classmates. Before college, “decency” was not my experience with many of my white classmates.
I will also add that Black students are sometimes not to succeed in high school by not being given the more advanced classes, despite their intelligence. Dated someone in HS who was quite smart, but (non-American) Black. (Got no end of cr@p for this, but that’s another story.)
She wasn’t given many of the honors classes despite being pretty damn smart. She did much better after her family moved into the city and she went to a Catholic school. Ended up going to a good university, then med school, and she’s doing quite well now. Had she stayed at a suburban public school, the outcome might have been different.
Nah, everyone should start carrying cash. The pigs can’t rob everyone — and if the system gets clogged with lawsuits, maybe the pigs will learn to fuck off.
Hopefully, NATO will do the right thing and tell the Turks and Russians “your war, have at it.” Alliances and treaties are meant to be broken. No sense in escalation over some agreement made in another different time.
I’m happy that Obama’s default seems to be deliberation, not rash action — he’s exactly the kind of President needed in this case.
Hypothetically one could “have trouble evicting” the old owners after 59 days if anyone asks 😉 By the time the “eviction” is done, the school year will be over…
But no one will ask if the payments are being made on time. Stop treating large corporations any better than they’d treat their customers.
Why was Kuwait our problem? Oil? If we want lower energy prices, we should be building nuclear power plants and pushing renewables, not meddling in an already dangerously unstable area.
