Participant
im wondering? what level of security is appropriatein an embassy? I mean, we’re supposed to have diplomatc relations with the place? if it takes a battalion of soldiers to guard an embassy, probably we shouldnt have the damn embassy?
can’t we just meet somewhere safer if we need to discuss something?
It’s just semantics, but there was no attack on the embassy in Libya. The embassy is in Tripoli.

Participant
Given that it is not unrealistic to expect the president of the United States, republican or democrat, to be somewhat of a fraud, why is this particular point so important?
Irrespective of whether there was any real fraud involved here, point taken. I have no idea why this is a big issue. It’s possible that politics is involved.

Participant
He lied about it being terrorism and for 2 weeks talked about the faux video. RPG’s are not something spontaneous, especially on the anniversary of 9-11.
The Ambassador died because he had inadequate security. However, nothing I say about your religious leader matters because you have made up your mind and I know I am wasting my time discussing it with you, but you obviously like to fight. So check this out and you can respond later. “Video from the compound’s cameras debunk the initial line from the Obama administration that there was a protest in front of the consulate on the night of the attacks, according to one of the U.S. intelligence officials who has seen the footage, and a senior Obama administration official familiar with what they show.”
I have to walk the dog and then I will have a glass of something and chill out. You are raising my blood pressure with your incessant harping. I will see you tomorrow and we can resume where we left off. Have a pleasant night my liberal apologist.
He referred to as an act of terrorism at least twice in the days immediately following the attack. (Sept 12 and 13.) There is no evidence readily available to indicate it was anything other than a spontaneous attack. RPG’s take moments to launch, almost no planning is necessary. Apparently there is a train of thought that the two are incompatible. Since there is no definition of “a terrorist attack”, I’m not sure how the two can be incompatible.
The Ambassador died, so inadequate security is pretty clear, but I’m not sure where the lie is there.
I haven’t seen any comments from the administration indicating that there were protests in front of the embassay. Only that the attack was a spontaneous response to the protests in Egypt. Nothing to the effect that there were protests outside the consulate in Benghazi. Obviously, those that were involved in the attack began on the outside.
Why would disputing innacuracies make me an apologist? They’re your innacuracies, not mine.

Please be specific, what was the lie, and what was the lie that caused the death?

Participant
SK- That is word coinage. You get an F. For a brave an clearly educated man, I expect more from you than being an ideologue. What a shame. You have so much going for you. I would even drink a beer with you given the right circumstances.
I’m sure you’ve seen the lists of the dozens of lies that Romney has told during this campaign and more specifically during the debates. Nothing that Obama has said or done is even in the same league. Both sides do it. Only one side does it at unscrupulously outrageous levels.

False equivilence.

Mother Jones? MOTHER JONES?!? You are citing THAT rag? Please, read it for entertainment, but for God’s sake, don’t quote it as anything resembling factual.
They do great reporting. But here’s another one.
To Libyans who witnessed the assault and know the attackers, there is little doubt what occurred: a well-known group of local Islamist militants struck the United States Mission without any warning or protest, and they did it in retaliation for the video. That is what the fighters said at the time, speaking emotionally of their anger at the video without mentioning Al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden or the terrorist strikes of 11 years earlier. And it is an explanation that tracks with their history as members of a local militant group determined to protect Libya from Western influence.

Participant
SK,
Please read the text of Obama’s comments on 9/12/2012
then try to justify your comment above.
I have. Romney was wrong when he asserted that Obama hadn’t referred to the attack as an act of terror. He did. Trying to twist his words into referring to something other than the Benghazi attack is moronic. Meaning anyone who tries to do that or believes it to be true is a moron. There isn’t even any wiggle room. It was the subject of the speech.
Furthermore, the most recent reports indicate that he was also correct in the reporting that the attacks were a spontaneous response to the video.

Don’t quote me, but I think you could structure the mortgage through an LLC, bundle the payments to you as either retained earnings or dividends and then write off of taxes two trips a year to ‘check’ on your investment target market.

Whoa… Wait a minute there. Can you explain this to a layman like me… Say what?
Don’t worry about it. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Participant
Obama = koyaanisqatsi
“In what surely was one of the weirdest incidents in a presidential debate, CNN’s Candy Crowley egregiously sided with President Obama on his false remarks on Libya, was repeatedly and decisively fact-checked post-debate as wrong (somewhere between “mostly wrong” and “pants on fire” in my book) and then backed away from her own incorrect assertion. As was the case in the vice presidential debate, the biggest story may be the after-the-debate tumult over White House misrepresentations on Libya.”
Pretty funny article. She claims Crowley was wrong, then points to three sources, supposedly that back her stupid assertion. And none of those three articles she links to do any of the sort. Obama was right. Crowley was right. Romney lied again.

Participant
I thought his answer basically showed he was going to take effort to make equal opportunity.
“he’s a liar!”
“no, you’re the liar!”
Other than the awkwardness of his claim, the bigger problem is that it was simply a lie. He didn’t make any effort to assemble his “binder full of women”. The “binder” was prepared by a coalition of 42 Massachusettes women’s organizations before he even took office, ready to be presented to whichever candidate won the election. He didn’t seek it out. He may have used it. But its preparation was not due to any effort on his part.
It was just another of the literally hundreds of lies that Romney has told during this campaign.

ParticipantCheck your policy carefully. These home protection policy companies make their money by refusing claims. Often they claim exclusions when no exclusions exist. (The do sometimes have some BS exclusions on costs of installation, but check carefully.) Beyond that, the $284 does seem excessive for disconnecting and reconnecting the timer. How long did it take him to do the job? Any idea on how much extra time was needed solely related to the timer?
October 9, 2012 at 7:51 AM in reply to: Do lenders use Total Income, AGI or Taxable income for a refi for self-employed people? #752347SK in CV
ParticipantNone of the above. Usually it’s net business income, plus income from other sources, if applicable. If you’re looking for a line on a tax return, it should be similar to total income (which may be very different from gross income). Underwriters will sometimes allow for adjustments to net business income if the borrower can provide a convincing argument that the adjustments are warranted.
