Getting to and from the coast really isnt a problem if you live within 2 or 3 miles of the coast in North County. Driving on the freeway is the problem and always will be. There is only one coastal freeway and for that matter one inland freeway (15).If you want to live in a metropolitan area traffic is part of the deal. Personally, I dont think the traffic is unbearable around here. Have you ever tried to get around NY, Boston, LA, Chicago, San Fran, Houston, Dallas, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Miami,Baltimore or DC?
I thought you worked from home and/or traveled most of the time. If I were you I’d find the community I really wanted to live in and wouldnt worry about the traffic. If you cant put up with it find a nice quiet small town instead.

Think about it for a second. Take one southbound freeway and split it into 2, no problem there. Now take two Northbound freeways and merge them into 1. Now thats a problem!
Actually building 56 was a miracle! I remember them trying to get it done in the early 90’s and all the battles over where and how wide. Bbe glad its there at all!

ParticipantMost decent people are reputable and friendly when you enter a contract. The problem is what they become when things go wrong. I’d make sure that I had very good legal language covering disolution of the agreement just in case.

It always mad me laugh watching them throw so much money at the 5/805 merge when the real problem was the loss of about 4 Northbound lanes at Via de la Valle. They are finally working on the portion between Via de la Valle and Lomas Santa Fe. Evenutally they will reach Oceanside.
With that said there will always be a couple trouble spots. I-5 snakes through Encinitas rather than running in a straight line which causes brake pumping and back ups. Also just North of Cannon Road the 5 veers West creating blinding sun in the eyes of Northbound PM rush hour communters. I’m sure there are more but those are 2 of my pet peeves.
