ParticipantI agree prices are still inflated but I see NOWHERE in Carlsbad hitting under $100/sq ft. The value of the land my house sits on was over $100/sf in 1999. Cmon do you really beleive you will see a 4,000 sq ft home in LC Greens (not where I live) for under $400K. How about a 1500 sq ft Rancho Ponderosa starter home for under $150K? How about 3,000 sf in Calaver under $300K. Lets go really big and try to find a 5,000 sq ft Pulte home in La Costa Oaks under $500K.
Same goes for SEH’s and Bressi. I just dont see that as a possibility. Everything is connected and if these homes are under $100/sq ft do you think you’ll see O’side under $70/ sq ft? How about 2,000 sq ft in Rancho Del Oro under $140K?
I willing to look at the uberbear final resting place as much as anyone but these numbers are just plain silly.

Participantsocratt,
I will go out on a limb and say its impossible. Though I dont think its a thin limb. If my house goes to 100/ sq ft, then starter homes in Mira Mesa would have to be free. Same goes for Clairemont and PQ. Dont think thats gonna happen.Seriously, it would mean that my house was going for about 70 times rent. Owning my 5BR house would be cheaper than renting a 2BR apartment in UTC. Get real.

ParticipantMy house in a nice part of Carlsbad was $150/sq ft new in 1999 without many upgrades or landscaping. Good luck on the $100/ sq ft wishing.
